Who was BOG last Night

though jamo was solid. Got some spoils in out of nowhere, not best but worth mentioning the FB in these talks sometimes.

Still can't believe how lucky we are to have plucked Jammo out of where we did. He's absolutely solid week in, week out and has the composure that is required from a player who consistently plays on the last line of defence. So, so lucky.

Even the Hawks could do with a player like Jammo in their back half.

3 - Fevola (man has he bulked up!!!)
2 - Gibbs (pure class)
1 - Simpson (needs to finish off his work but a running machine)

Great first up effort from Robinson also.

3. Gibbs - this kid just has so much poise & class.
2. Fev - looks like Fev has set himself for another big season.
1. Grigg - just kept 'bobbing' with the ball all night.

A special mention to 'Sauce'. 18 hitouts for the night (we haven't seen that sort of stat from our ruckmen for awhile) & was extremely competitive at all centre bounces. He nullified a number of McIntosh's hitouts.

3 Fev
2 Gibbs
1 Simpson

Can't believe no-one has mentioned Simmo...

I second that! Simmo burnt! Not scared to go in hard either for a player of his size :thumbsu:

Gibbs, Fev, Simpson and Grigg for mine, closely followed by Robbo and Judd. Thought Sauce did well in the ruck too!

Gibbs, Judd and Fev set it up early. Love the endeavour of Mitch "Little Lance" Robinson - does anyone else think he looks and moves a bit like Lance, but obviously much much quicker?

Geez, can't believe the lack of votes for Simmo! I thought he was great last night, was everywhere.

3. Gibbs
2. Simpson
1. Fevola

Apart from all the blokes already mentioned, though Johnson showed a bit last night too, made a mistake but his disposal and defensive side looked pretty good.

And Houlihan too. Must.Play.Forward.Of.The.Centre.

Not enough people understand how skilful you need to be to slot that goal from the pocket. The one where Fev and CJ were involved. Give him any room and he'll hurt you on the board and down Fev's throat every time.

We now have 1 more CJ than Baywatch...and I wouldnt mind recruiting her as a leading forward to see if the boys can deliver it down her throat.

1. Gibbs. Was awesome last night and just has class written all over him.

2. Fev. He is just a star and a great asset.

3. Simpson. He was very good early when we built the lead and his run is exceptional.

Go Blues :):):thumbsu:

3 Votes - Gibbs
2 Votes - Fevola
1 Vote - Simpson

Special mentions to Robinson and Garlett in their first game for the navy blue.

3 Gibbs
2 Fev
1 Sauce <<<<<<<<< How can we not give him a vote... beat McIntosh and his disposal around the ground was fabulous and quick hands was good.

Everyone else is unlucky

Isnt it great to have the Football back, pre season is just to long, and sitting back last night watching the boys was the best thing ive seen on TV in months, only another 4 weeks till the real stuff starts. GO BLUES>

Carlton was best on the ground last night.

In reflection, it was such an even spread across the whole ground that it's hard to pin down any particular stand out talent. In short, pretty much every one had the better of their opponent throughout the evening.:thumbsu:

I'd have to say the obvious answers - Gibbs, followed closely by Fev.

The deciding factor between the two was that Gibbsy was consistant throughout each quarter where as Fev remained goalless for the last. Either way, it's stunning to see Gibbsy dominating through the Midfield with Juddy taking all of the attention away from him and Fev leading strong, easily brushing off his competition and kicking truely. 6 goals 2 isn't a bad return!

What happened to our predicted belting, TIG? :)

Russell didn't get enough of the ball to have an impact for the Roos.

I don't know why I assumed he'd get enough of the ball to gift them goals...

Must be the sun getting to me.

Surely Jordan Russell was best on ground EBIAC?
Some people take things out of context and don't actually read what's posted.

Example A.
