I don't think there's much between Sydney, GWS, Carlton and Melbourne this year to be honest.
I just can't see Sydney or GWS beating Carlton or Melbourne at the MCG in September.

A lot to play out for the Blues. Need to get our clearance game back up and running before we go worrying about finals etc. We look to be a decent turnover team in 2024 but our strength is always going to be scoring from clearances when we are up and going due to the lack of initial support for teams down back in 6/6/6 vs Curnow and Mckay.

If we can't find that magic formula in the middle again once Walsh is back I wouldn't think we'll be much threat to anyone big home crowd or not.

Yep. The comp is so close now that the MCG is a massive advantage for Vic teams on GF day. Interstate sides really need to hope they play another interstate side on grand final day.

Geelong currently false economy. Both NSW Teams will be plenty hard enough when finals time come against them.

I think the giants are the best team in it, but I do worry they lack depth outside their best 22 compared to other top sides.

Still feel today was not a great way to tell which team was better as it was damp football from the first bounce and only got wetter. Both teams are very different in the dry.

Looking at the age and experience profiles of the 2 sides we're at least a year ahead of where GWS are so they probably have more improvement left in that list than we do which is scary. Plenty of kids in that sub 50 game bracket still.

Both sides seem to be well positioned for the next few years at least

You have to be in it to win it - and apart from my own club, Sydney are the best club when it comes to putting themselves in a position to contend for a premiership year in, year out.

We have a good foundation , it's also a very tight season and we have 2 tough games prior to the bye- lose them and it's back to the pack .

Who knows, I am confident our regular season if we stay reasonably injury free.

We haven’t had a terrible year injury wise but just constant ins and outs unsettling things …. Hopefully stay fit for the next month or two

They have a steely resolve about them. Similar to what Collingwood went through last year while Giants have a better list. Certainly better forward line and comparable midfield and backs.

They'll go deeper than Sydney this season.

I still don't feel like they've reached last years heights, but every week they're getting incrementally better and if it keeps happening they will be absolutely peak form come finals.
