Still kicked 24 in a shit year. And punched a Carlton flog in the head so he’s now a Collingwood legend anywayWell it really does depend on whether you think forward line pressure is important, or not.
Because as a casual observer watching Collingwood, I'm not sure that's something a Carlton supporter would notice of Schultz...
Make no mistake, the Blues would fall over themselves for a player like Schultz if he were made available for trade. He didn't have a great year, but he wasn't helped by having to play tall for a few weeks whilst we were without McStay and Mihocek. Both boys back for pre-season plus Membrey added - we can expect a much better season from Schultz in '25Maybe we give Schultz more than a single year before we form a conclusion on the success or otherwise of the trade.
But I do find it ironic that Carlton posters are supporting the Owies trade due to his lack of forward pressure, but downplaying Schultz despite his being recognised by his coaches as the player who applied the best defensive pressure of anyone in his team...

He was shit at Fremantle too, so we've given him more than one year.Maybe we give Schultz more than a single year before we form a conclusion on the success or otherwise of the trade.

Appalling opinionHe was shit at Fremantle too
That's interesting, because we've been reliably informed Carlton don't have any problems with their salary cap.No one is supporting the Owies trade from a forward pressure basis (or they're silly if they are). The Owies trade was simply for cap space reasons. He is a good player. He's a lot better than Shulz that's for sure!
They're good at believing what they want to believe.Appalling opinion
I do admire the bravado in away. Been shit for 30 years. Played in 1 losing prelim the past 25 years and somehow think we’re deluded for having some hope next year. I guess winning a flag 14 months ago would be a slight positive to draw on. If we go shithouse next year we rebuild. Better then rebuilding 17 times this century for nothingThey're good at believing what they want to believe.
For example, 'Carlton are premiership contenders'.
I didn't notice Schitz once last season after observing Collingwood casuallyWell it really does depend on whether you think forward line pressure is important, or not.

It's OK, he has 10-12 years left on the pies list given his age. We can form an opinion in due courseNot sure the term 'go easy' was used.
The question was asked whether we overpaid for him, and I said I wouldn't be forming a conclusion on that after only his first year at the club.
The reason why Carlton offloaded Owies......Well it really does depend on whether you think forward line pressure is important, or not.
We have this weird thing called - talented youth. I understand Collingwood wouldn't be aware of this (outside of Daicos). So we're comfortable we can replicate his pressure with younger players coming through at a fraction of the cost. That's interesting, because we've been reliably informed Carlton don't have any problems with their salary cap.
So if that is the prime reason he was exited, and it wasn't due to his lack of defensive pressure, then you've given up your best and most productive player in your weakest position on the ground?
Oh boy. You couldn't make up this shite!
I saw that ex-Carlton player's book, Zac Tuohy I think his name is. He commented Carlton were big on paying their stars huge money and the rest peanuts, and the terrible effect it had on morale. We have this weird thing called - talented youth. I understand Collingwood wouldn't be aware of this (outside of Daicos). So we're comfortable we can replicate his pressure with younger players coming through at a fraction of the cost.
You're just lying now - we went 11-2 in our last 13 games and Cerra played in 9 of them. Missed against the Eagles, Suns, Saints and Dees. The run started before any injury to Cerra and he was a crucial part of that run (including in finals)Cerra led the B&F whilst Carlton were in the bottom 6 for much of 2023. Gets injured and bada bing, bada boom, the Blues were soaring. I'd have cashed in on him instead of Kennedy.
Really? We have this weird thing called - talented youth.
Ooh. Should I. Nah. Too easy.Really?
You could have fooled me.
Accurate opinion.Appalling opinion
Yep.Really?
You could have fooled me.
On what metric? The same level as Shultz who cost a 1st and 2nd.
I'm tipping each one of those goals that Schitz has kicked has cost a way lot more than what Durdin has kickedOn what metric?
Shooter has kicked over 100 goals the last 4 years
Turdin 34
Who tf is ShooterOn what metric?
Shooter has kicked over 100 goals the last 4 years
Turdin 34
Shooter nearly doubles his average in every stat
Says Arrow derailing the thread with his Fadge obsession again rather than talking about 2025.Let me guess, Fadge still trying to derail the thread talking about contenders, rather than 2025?
