Easter Monday on the big ground will be glorious as the slow as treacle Cats get a hiding by the Hawks.

Playing at that government funded postage stamp dump gives hand bagger fans a false economy of how they’re going.

They aren’t that good
The old 2024 version of Geelong gave the Hawks a bit of a touch up Easter Monday at the Mighty MCG. Young Ollie Henry took Sicily apart kicking four goals on him, and this well before the bung shoulder excuse our Maybloom friends love to bring up. Hopefully superstar recruits Battle and Barrass can give the poor bugger a chop out next year. 😂

I still trust the Cats more, they will win lets say 80% at GMHBA stadium that's always a good start. Hawks could come top 4, for sure. They could also suffer second year syndrome which has occurred before. This is one pick I'm not confident of. I'm past tipping the Cats to fall off a cliff though!

Ah yep, when we were a bottom 3 side and hadn’t found a shred of form.

Keep hanging onto that.

We both won the same amount of finals this year

It was yet another semi-finals flop this year right, the third in a row? This time to renowned finals easybeats Port with a subsequent club-wide public meltdown. The 'Hok' brand took a hell of a beating after that tantrum at the hands of old man Kenneth.

Such a bad beating, that very same Hok brand is about to be the subject of a pre season documentary series, about to play in numerous prime time games and is outright second flag favourite ahead of your minnow club. Just admit you hate that we’re back and be done with it.

'Media lovechild gets fellated by the media after achieving nothing of note'.

Back for more semi-finals defeats? Have the standards at Dingley really dropped that low after the visit to the bottom 4? :$

Not sure you realise just how much Geelong's older players fell off a cliff last year or how much our youngsters improved. I also think you underestimate how important mature players like Amon, Impey and Frost are for Hawthorn. The first 2 were both top 7 in your B&F.

Interestingly the average age for the top 8 in the B&F was slightly younger for Geelong than Hawthorn this year.
Why you stop at top 8? Why not top 5 or top 10?

Hmmm.

No club has lost more finals the last 15 years than Geelong mate.
Maybe less complaining to headquarters for home finals and focus on winning them.

Lost more, won more, played more. Selwood the most capped finals player of all-time with his premiership retirement. No bottom 4 finishes during that time either.

Amon and Impey are pretty important to the run and dash game style correct, but they’re the cream to the cake. Frost is someone who if and when he plays does a role and that’s it, his role is important but so is everyone’s. When you look at the utter importance of star or top line players, majority are younger or prime aged players.

To be honest I'm actually more keen to see what happens at gather round. Old grinning Kenny versus too important to attend kids clinics

Frost was extremely important this year. Next year he becomes much less so with the players brought in

The B&F for us is probably the perfect spread. 2 29yo's a 27 and 26yo and the rest 25 and under. None will be going in the next 2 years and nearly all the rest have 5 years or more left in them. Outside of the top 10 was also arguably our best young player

Geelong have done extremely well to regenerate their list. There are still a 3 important pieces that will need to be replaced in the next couple of years but I'm sure they will annoyingly somehow find a way

I will cherry pick to my heart's content!

It's still a nice stat. The geriatric cats with a younger top 8 in their B&F than the baby Hawks.
Go for your life, I guess.

How did Miers suddenly get older than Worpel?

It's just funny to keep being told we rely entirely on our old guys.

Sure we might have pumped the team that knocked you out of finals by 14 goals. But that's just cause Hawkins, C Guthrie, Stewart, Rohan, Selwood, Bartel, Scarlett, Polly Farmer and Carji Greeves had good games.

Those are the ages that were on draft guru man..

I edited it however, it was a .1 and .2 difference 🤗🤗

The same team that also beat you by 6 points at Geelong? See how irrelevant it is?

Carlton by 63 and Hawthorn beat them by 74.

137 points over Geelong.

But means a lot right??

It's all irrelevant mate. Hawthorn and Geelong's greatness won't survive the heat death of the universe. Nor will our witty banter😢

Hawks should be.

They're second premiership favourites for a reason and would've been top 2 in 2024 if you reversed the results of the Cats/Hawks head to head match ups. Maybe even would've been premiers in that case, with a home GF against Brisbane? The only question is whether they let expectations get to them.
