To be honest, this whole thread is bizarre to me. Hawthorn and Collingwood are in totally different demographics for their team and their goals. Pies are in win now, have the list for it and are recent premiers who had a dip in form in their b2b year. Hawks are a really young team embracing a new culture and are adding side pieces to bolster. They should aim to make finals again but top 4 is certainly not a realistic goal.
You still so sure of this?

Bit of overreaction to the Collingwood loss. They fell away badly late but for 3 quarters they were very competitive against a good team and horrible inaccuracy stopped it from being closer at 3/4 time

GWS were a comfortable 3-4 goals up for most of the game before pulling away as the Pies fitness tanked in the last. I'm not sure I'd say they were competitive.

Yeah because Collingwood had kicked 4.13 to 3/4 time. Collingwood had plenty of chances to make it much closer they just couldn't take them. Other weeks they will and they will look much better because of it

They should still be a strong team at the G. I think they'll get some momentum at home this weekend against Port. If the G becomes a fortress again, they'll be playing finals.

GWS outworked them the back end of each quarter, but I doubt it was a true indication of the Pies this year

They were the oldest round one team for a long time.

I wonder what was the second oldest and how did their season pan out?

Got a feeling hawks would be a candidate
I hate that “oldest” team stat. Take Pendles and Sidebottom out and I think it’d change a fair bit. A few years back the media were going on about our average age but if you took Burgoyne and I think Gunners out we dropped significantly.

taking out the oldest and youngest player is probably the best way to get a better average, taking two of the oldest but keeping the youngest distorts it too much imo

admittedly not a good week for the GOAT, however I do not think its out of the realm of possibility Collingwood threw that game on purpose to ditch opening round going forward, furthermore what a dogshit stadium can footy never be played there again? thanks.
Could you be any more deluded?
