I think both teams structure up and try to play similar types of games.
Even things like when Kingsley said they want to play on the edge, thate an ethos Hawthorn take into winning culture as well.
Will be interesting to see which team does it better. I voted gws for now.

GWS could have won the 2024 flag yet had 2 choke finals to go out in straight sets.
They might be very angry and hard to beat... I think their list is more developed and well rounded than the Hawthorn list

Hard to go past the Giants. They collect 1st round picks like belly fluff.

Toss of the coin between Giants and Hawks.
These two, plus the Lions are my top 3 fancies for 2025. I'll be surprised if anyone else wins the flag.
Giants have the best list, with no holes - Hawks and Lions are vulnerable in their KPF stocks.
Lions have the best pedigree - been there and done that, despite losing key players to long-term injury in 2024.
Hawks have the best coach - the media is finally beginning to cotton on to this - and more flexibility than the other two in terms of genuine swingmen.
These two, plus the Lions are my top 3 fancies for 2025. I'll be surprised if anyone else wins the flag.
Giants have the best list, with no holes - Hawks and Lions are vulnerable in their KPF stocks.

Five KPD make them top-heavy in defence, etc. I feel like GWS answered a lot of their questions last year.
Of course I want it to be Hawthorn holding the cup, but if not us, then GWS (and Brisbane) are the two most likely.

Pretty even you’d think …. Injuries aside maybe giants have a bit more depth
Think this a better comparison, than what the Hawks have been through in the past couple of years. North, Adelaide, West Coast, Collingwood and Carlton. Makes the skin crawl.
GWS is at the place where they are serious premiership contenders. Definitely a top 4 candidate this year. The Hawks are probably most likely just behind them, I would class us as a top 6 team this year. Both teams are great to watch, as they are both attacking teams. I do think that GWS has a slight edge, in the fact that they do have that little bit more experience.
Saying all that, I am a Hawks supporter, and will always back the Hawks to overcome any challenge.
