AFL Club
Collingwood
With a mandatory turn over of 4 players and a very young list outside of the regular 24 or so. Who is on their way out do you think?

I would have to say

Hunter
L.Brown

McCarthy (Trade)
McNamara
Perham
Dick?

I think its mandatory to turn over 3 and they must be from the Senior List.
Rookie listed players don't count

I feel sorry for mcNamara if he left. Gave up a chance in other sports to try and succeed in afl

Feel sorry 4 him too.

In the last game he was on the wing asking someone from the interchange 'do you want me to go to the wing'? To which he was told 'get off'. He dropped his head like, literally. Not a problem that he was told that, but evidently he was eager to learn but was not reading the game well.

His abilities in other sports have been greatly exaggerated. IIRC before coming to AFL he was struggling to get off the bench in a rubbish basketball league in Germany.

This probably belongs in the "departing" thread but with the shock sacking of Mark Harvey, we'll be in the market for two assistant coaches next season if the speculation is true.

Mark Neeld if he gets the Adelaide/Melbourne job and Scotty Watters apparently to Freo (if not Rossy Lyon).

SNR: (3-5 changes likely)
Leigh Brown (Retire)
Brad Dick (Delist)
Trent Stubbs (Delist)

Possible:
Leon Davis (Retire)
John McCarthy (Delist)
Simon Buckley (Delist)

Rookie: (4-5 changes likely)
Tom Hunter (Retire)
Scott Reed (Delist)
Jack Perham (Delist)

Possible:
Shae McNamara (Delist)
Declan Reilly (Delist)

Really hope Shae Mac doesnt go, from what ive heard about him on facebook he is a really nice guy and with his website he's trying to teach Americans about the game. If he does go I can see him getting picked up by maybe Richmond?

If richmond picked him up they would be very stupid. If Collingwood the top player devolopers dont think he can make it i dont know why any other club would bother!

There was a thread not long ago that freo were talking to Scott Watters, think he is a monty to head back there now.

Has there been any news recently on Sanderson?

I wouldn't be too concerned if Macaffer got traded, I think Fasolo has got him covered for the position which he had last year. Scott Reed and Brad Dick are also definites on my mind, I don't mind where they end up, but we should try getting a trade for Dick, it would be better than just getting rid of him for nothing.

oh you dirty traitors talkin up trading Brad Dick..
Brad will be back all fixed up next year, he's training hard and got nothing left to break..
AA next year you wait and see.
and before anyone gets smart I was the one saying Leon Davis will be AA this year as early as after the GF when he got dropped..
dirty traitors talking up getting rid of Leon and look how that turned out..
GO BRAD DICK!

Terribly bad analogy but I think the guy who invented FedEx got a C on the paper which originally had the idea.

And closer to AFL, Leigh Brown was delisted and became a premiership player who was an important piece.

Hopefully Shae can prove everyone wrong and make it, would be a great story.

People are talking about the club delisting Dick because of injuries being too much, not trading him.

Stubbs won't go he was on the NSW scholarship with Hawthorn and was overlooked by them so they will give him a second year. Will be interesting to see if they throw a line to Kris Pendlebury or Tom Sundberg. A big part of me thinks that may be the reason why Pendles re-signed hastily.

brad dick is gone. i dont think any team would be stupid enough to take the risk on him. He has the skills but not the body

Mccaffer aint going anywhere. There is a reason he was sent to the states

Buckley, Mccarthy, Dick, Brown are my picks. Maybe johnson and davis to retire

I like your thinking but I'm pretty sure I heard Johno say he wants to play on, if Buckley is delisted or traded Johno will stay.

I wouldn't be getting rid of Simon Buckley. Pay him base, he is a more than capable backup half back flanker that could develop into something.

Agree that Brad Dick has to go. I feel for the lad but I can't see how much more they are going to get out of him with a body like that. Is far too skinny for the modern day game where contested footy is the main focus from coaches and players.

Shae Mc is an interesting one but he probably has to go. Not many know this but the guy is 26 years old. Not sure how you can make it as an AFL footballer that is still trying to learn the game at 26. Unfortunately I'd delist him as well.

I think Leon is looking at giving it away no matter what after this year anyways so there is your five.

Witts to the main list. :thumbsu:

Yeah very good point there. Didnt even think about that. If johno was to retire buckley would stay i would think. or if buckley was to be traded johno would play on. Would deff prefer johno to go on. Hes still playing fantastic footy and hes a good solid mature body. He's body has actually held up very well. Broken bones, well, you cant do much about that. i think goldsack could play that role adequately if by some catastrophe both were to leave at years end though.
