I don't watch any footy tv shows but I know that they like blowing things well out of proportion, whether it's positive or negative.

ex-players in particular seem to froth at any opportunity to pick up on the slightest lack of intensity, as if to try and prove just how much of a lord they themselves were back in the day.

Jetta was one of the only guys trying when we pumped Sydney, so it's not as if he's a condemned front runner - just needs to play like that consistently.
But then in a final he had to be subbed when he was exactly what Sydney needed to win the match.

I'm still not 100% sold on him having a year like he did in 2012 but can definitley see him added something to the team, something we haven't had for a long time.

Sydney fans might be saying the same thing about Sinclair being subbed in our most recent final!

Yeah wait and see I guess, hopefully he doesn't prove me wrong

Gaff 4 Brownlow. The guy's a star. If he can hit this level for the next few years it'll go a long way to a flag.
In order?
1. Gaff
2. Shuey
3. Priddler
4. Jetta
5. Yeo (still young, still building consistency)
6. Sheed (stellar second year last year)
7. Redden? Don't know what to expect
8. Duggan (would love a Sheed-like second year though)
9. Watts
10. Mastoid. Could dominate with the sub rule gone, could be trade bait by the years end.

Shuey can be a star in this league and can break tackles

Gaff is a brilliant accumulator and decent user but gaff can't to what shuey does
Gaff can run all day, breaks tags at will these days, and provides link up after link up with elite endurance.

So Shuey can't do what Gaff does either.

I get that totally. However I just feel shuey can destroy you like a Judd could or a Dangerfield could ...he's not in thier class yet though

They are both football players

Gaff is an awesome player and can run all day but he won't do what shuey has the potential to do and has done
Shuey has potential but he hasnt had a dominant season like gaff did last year. I cant recall one a pure wingmen in recent year get a nod on the wing in the AA side.

I love Shuey but I don't think he's had as complete a season as Gaff had last year.

Agree ........and yes maybe I'm naming it on potential as opposed to pure output and performances so far

All valid

If shuey has an injury free year he can dominate the afl

For sure. Shuey at his very best is more exciting than anyone since Judd. I guess my thinking is that at 25, he's basically at his peak right now - there may not be that much further for him to go in terms of his ceiling. Although Dangerfield and Fyfe are about the same age and come to think of it, Shuey missed a fair bit of time in his first couple of years so may not have played as many games? Anyway I hope he does go to another level this year - I'd be so stoked.

I agree with you on potential but the biggest hurdle shuey has to get over his actually breaking a tag. if he does, he will be a top 5-10 mid and is dangerfield like but more cleaner with disposal. One of the most pleasing things last year was that he was still able to have some impact will being tagged, however, he still has to break tags consistently.

Shuey and dangerfield are both 25 but dangerfield entered into the system a year earlier. Fyfe is a year younger than both.

Would anyone be upset if we took danger over masten at pick3 given the 1 year wait for danger& the likelihood he still goes home?
