Who will be Richmond's next coach?

Yeah, Lambert is my pick!

An oppurtunity has come for him if he wants to take it and I reckon he might end up taking it. I thought he would have taken it this year if Frawley got the sack last year.

You can forget about Lambert as being the next coach of Richmond . They won't take another punt on an Assistant Coach for the main gig again , like with Frawley . They will be out to snare an experienced coach , and if they miss out on Sheedy , i think it will be Wallace who gets the job .

Sheedy going to Richmond is in the same league as Matthews heading off to the Hawks, pure mills & boon romantic drivel.

If Richmond want an experienced coach who've they really got to choose from?

Ayres?
Wallace?
Brittain?

When you've got the likes of Harvey, O'Donnell, Lambert etc who've probably achieved more as an assistant coach in recent football history, than any of those 'experienced' coaches, Richmond would be mad to dismiss them straight up. I couldn't see Harvey or O'Donnell going for a senior coaching gig, they seem happy to have the less responsibility of assisting, but Lambert? He's probably a pretty good bloke for them to look at I reckon.

In order:

Sheedy
Wallace
Eade

O'Donnell or Harvey

I reckon Sheeds will stay at Bombers, Wallace will go to Crows and we'll end up with Eade.

Malthouse has a contract, Sheedy will have a contract soon and wouldn't do well with Miller anyway and Wallace wasn't exactly a hit at Tigers who he only went to for a short time for money.

That leave Eade and a few inexpieriances candidates with good credentials but no runs on the board. Richmond need a coach with serious credibility to get them through a few years of low finishes and draft picks or else a scape goat to dump when they have two bad years and have accumulated some talent. The latter option would be dangerous for them with their record and make it hard to get a quality coach unless they can do a handshake deal with Sheedy for when his next Essendon deal ends which would be unlikely in the extreme.

Basically Richmond have few options and fewer candidates.

Phil Walsh.

Please.

Maybe Matthew Knights if Port Magpies make the 5.

I believe Robbie has been asked to apply for various positions over the years but has no interest in being a senior coach. Not what they are all after I guess.

I think Terry Wallace will end up at Richmond, he's got that 'great white hope' ,'man with the plan' kind of thing going that they are really into down at Tigerland.

How long till it's asked if the newest new guy can get the 'best' out of ol' Richo?..
