In the same vein as the 2025 thread, who do you believe will be the first coach to be sacked in 2026?

You'd think he's in trouble if they don't beat West Coast in round 2...Clarko, it'll happen quickly if they start the year poorly with a favourable draw.

Lost me with "tremendous coach in Simon Goodwin". He was surrounded at Melbourne by seasoned coaching assistants including Richardson and premiership coach, Choco Williams. He had a team overflowing with talent yet could only manage one premiership.Dean Cox as a bit of a smokey.
Sydney have a massive amount of expectation this year and need to get going.
He didn't have a great year 1 IMO, notwithstanding a few injuries.
Plus they have a tremendous coach in Simon Goodwin in the background if things go sideways.

Voss will have a harder time keeping his job than last year. Our man Longmuir will be in trouble if Freo don't make top four and gone if they finish 7 to 10.
Cats will not sack Scott. Last time Geelong sacked a coach was 38 years ago (John Devine). Most posters weren't even born then.It really should be first coach replaced as sometimes they are sneaky and resign. I also don't think it's out of the question that a good coach like Chris Scott or McCae have a bad year and decide that they have had enough from a mental point of view once finals are shot.
I'm going Clarko though. If Richmond knock off Carlton Rd 1 then I want to change my vote to Voss.
Lucky? 16 wins would have gotten top 4 just about every other year and sometimes top 2.Yeah forgot him, he's in dire straits if they don't finish top 6. He was lucky they made the 8 last year think the noise would be much louder.

I feel like this year won't be as close. A few will rise, more will fall, maybe the bottom six will be a bit more competitive besides 1 or 2 teams. Already Carlton, Melbourne, Port look fresher and better.
Top 6 is a ridiculous expectation for a team who lost most of their spine in the off season.Yeah forgot him, he's in dire straits if they don't finish top 6. He was lucky they made the 8 last year think the noise would be much louder.
Brad Scott has to be the short price favourite, he could get sacked as soon as Monday if this turns into a 100 point thrashing.
