Clarko, it'll happen quickly if they start the year poorly with a favourable draw.
You'd think he's in trouble if they don't beat West Coast in round 2...

R1 v Port Adelaide @ Marvel
R2 v West Coast @ Optus
R3 v Essendon @ Marvel
R4 v Carlton @ Marvel
R5 v Brisbane @ Barossa

Clarko or Brad Scott although it could very well be Vossy as well if my ultimate nightmare scenario plays out, i.e. a defeat to Essendon (if our form is already poor going into this) in June like back in 2019 when they finished off Brendon Bolton's tenure as Carlton coach.

Dean Cox as a bit of a smokey.

Sydney have a massive amount of expectation this year and need to get going.

He didn't have a great year 1 IMO, notwithstanding a few injuries.

Plus they have a tremendous coach in Simon Goodwin in the background if things go sideways.

Lost me with "tremendous coach in Simon Goodwin". He was surrounded at Melbourne by seasoned coaching assistants including Richardson and premiership coach, Choco Williams. He had a team overflowing with talent yet could only manage one premiership.

Agree actually. After making the moves it's top 6 or he's in big trouble.

Voss will have a harder time keeping his job than last year. Our man Longmuir will be in trouble if Freo don't make top four and gone if they finish 7 to 10.

It really should be first coach replaced as sometimes they are sneaky and resign. I also don't think it's out of the question that a good coach like Chris Scott or McCae have a bad year and decide that they have had enough from a mental point of view once finals are shot.

I'm going Clarko though. If Richmond knock off Carlton Rd 1 then I want to change my vote to Voss.

Yeah forgot him, he's in dire straits if they don't finish top 6. He was lucky they made the 8 last year think the noise would be much louder.

Cats will not sack Scott. Last time Geelong sacked a coach was 38 years ago (John Devine). Most posters weren't even born then.

You're right though. Even though Scott is contracted until 2029, if he'd not committed and things go awry he could walk, but that doesn't seem to be his style. If it did happen I doubt he would coach again.

Lucky? 16 wins would have gotten top 4 just about every other year and sometimes top 2.

I feel like this year won't be as close. A few will rise, more will fall, maybe the bottom six will be a bit more competitive besides 1 or 2 teams. Already Carlton, Melbourne, Port look fresher and better.

You know your side better than me, but for me you've underachieved the last couple. It's a big year otherwise he's in trouble

Voss would be the most likely to go before round 10.

Any coach who is in year 4 and over should be in trouble if the results don't come. The honeymoon/grace period is well over for the likes of Lyon, Scott, and Clarkson although I can't see the saints moving Lyon on. Has that media connection so they won't go too hard on him.

Top 6 is a ridiculous expectation for a team who lost most of their spine in the off season.

His immediate tenure is based on how the team plays. Plus win the games they're expected to win and compete in the others.

Early signs were good, then really bad.

Jury is out. For a very long lunch.

If voss can get a few more wins, he could be looking at something like this next time the board meet

Brad Scott has to be the short price favourite, he could get sacked as soon as Monday if this turns into a 100 point thrashing.

im not sure what scott brings, or why they bothered with him in the first place. rutten should have had another year or 2, looked to have them going in the right direction. scott on the other hand keeps making them worse.
appalling list management to not trade merrett last year, he's going to have half the value he had previously at the end of this year.
