MM at least seems to proud himself on making pearls out of apparent sows' ears if it suits his defensive game plan - eg late draft calls such as Lokan, Rowe (apologies). What this year's game plan will be is the unknown. Will Walker fit (maybe as tall utility?), or Hall/Morrison stand up (jury still out, no evidence yet of the charge of seriously scaring the opposition), or Fanning ruck (TBA).
Did you say speed: besides Rhyce, now have the Egan, Rusling, Yakka show stepping up within a year. Total quicks beyond that in rookies, Leonard, O'Brien, Davies. But that fast game plan (see Geelong) may not kick in till the year after.
Next year is transition. Do we go with Buckley/Burns to burn their lights brightly and short to reach the top; or save them a bit to be around till the speedstars come on in the next year 06?
