Hurley disadvantaged by the ball bounce. Yeah ok sure he he
Did Hurley not work him under the ball and get first hands to it? Clearly was trying to turn back into play as we needed to score. Momentum going away from the bounce and easy goal. Mistake made needing to win the game, game not on the line he turns boundary side and goes down the line, it’s a clear lost contest from Worpel. Lucky based on circumstance and good on him for keeping his cool, but clearly not epic win Hawks supporters nut over.

Be interesting to see which way the ball bounces next year

And now we have Scully, Wingard and Worpedo to help out now, along with the likes of Shiels, Smith, Howe etc. Starting to get a deeper midfield that is better than most in the comp.
Scully's career in doubt with a severe ankle issue, Wingard not that keen on his footy, Worpel carrying huge expectations after only 11 games, Smithy does his best work away from the middle. ToM will have to do his 97% time on ground again.
Yep, not getting any deeper whichever way you twist it, let alone better than most.

but McEvoy will still be 29 in R1 - so maybe you need to adjust it yet again?
Yes, but will play in 2019 as a 30 year old, along with another 8 players that get a gig in your best 22.
It's ok to have the oldest list in the AFL, only one team can carry that mantle, and it's Hawthorn.
Must be touching a raw nerve down at Glenferrie.

Being in your thirties rocks.

I remember those days. :(

I see a lot of dissing @ Melksham but those that follow the forms closely, know that Melksham is a ball winner that rises to the occasion when required. Sure, I know he looks sloppy at times but he's tough and doesn't get pushed off the ball so easily. If Dees win the flag this year then I'm tipping this guy for Norm Smith honors!

You'd imagine the Hawks will slide a bit on the back of this mornings shocking news.
Most footy observers were predicting a slide for the Hawks, this injury is likely to be a deck of cards scenario in which they don't even make finals.
Demonstrates the folly of relying too much on one good player to shoulder more than his fair share of the load.
ToM had 97% time on ground in 2018 which papered over the gaping cracks in the list, one of them being the shallow mid field depth.
As they say, one players misfortune is another players opportunity and I'm sure, well fairly sure, there is someone on the list who can grasp an opportunity as has been presented right now.
