After the home and away season we finished 5th but overall we finished 4th, hence why Adelaide got pick 16 from us (Lever trade) and Port Adelaide got 15 from Hawthorn (Wingard trade) despite Hawthorn finishing 4th in the H&A season.

If Adelaide can get their full team or close enough to on the park they are a bloody good team
Would have won a final last year if we didn’t botch the start of the season the team was riding a wave of momentum in the last 10 or so rounds.
If we can’t win a final or two this this year then serious questions need to be asked because we have the talent no more excuses.

Why is it laughable? Essendon along with the Tigers and Pies were the only form teams of the comp leading up to finals.
Essendon beat just as many top teams as the Tigers did during that stretch.

I would have backed us to beat any team in the finals apart from Tigers,Pies or Melbourne.

There was nothing to say, you didn't make finals because you weren't good enough across the entire season.

People laugh that we lost Carlton but that loss will the making of our team as was shown in the last 10 rounds

The comment was "We would have won a final if we didn't botch the start of the season", that has nothing to do with ignoring the second half of the season.
I may as well say "Melbourne would have won the flag if we didn't get smashed by West Coast and then beat Collingwood the week after."
