More spirit than your clubs shown so much so the AFL had to pay a coach for you.
Yet the AFL give you a bigger hand out. In fact only GSW get a bigger one than the Saints.

Doesn't matter it doesn't hide the fact the AFL basically employed Paul Roos so sought out the rabble. He's gone and still players are refusing to commit to the discipline of AFL footballers. Refusing to go on a club organised camp.

Refusing to go on an unreasonable club organised camp.

On topic, i reckon Melbourne will finish higher up the ladder. I feel they have a better list and will develop better.

Dees "application" questionable ? I'm not sure what that means.

But I do know that they were the no.1 pressure team in 2017 and no.2 for contested possessions behind only Adelaide.

Wouldn't that show "application" ?
Surely you would be hell bent on applying yourself in rd 23 with finals berth on offer?
Or whatever it takes pre season training?

Anyone would think that we didn't hand the Saints there asses on a plate twice last year and finish above them.

Even funnier that the Saints had the best run with injuries too

Good to see a man who uses relevant information here from 2016...Here is an article for ya mate from 2016 too.

About time St Kilda received some love from the AFL in 2016. If you find something from 2017 saying anything of worth, I'd be glad to read it.

On the injury front, are you actually stupid? It is from the 11th of May, so again good job :))

And in regards to handing the 'Saints there asses on a plate twice last year and finishing above them,' St Kilda had handed Melbourne their asses on a plate for the 10 years prior. Good work buddy, enjoy some 30 point and 24 point wins while they last.

Love your positivity!
Add Cyril and roughly back to their best and I think you guys will be challenging again this year.
Bulldogs should be around the same mark this year providing Libba gets back to 2016 levels and we kick straighter
Saints are being underrated imho, they have a list that is good enough to play finals
While I honestly hope the Dees can make finals this year, their application is still questionable

West coast and Essendon are the most likely teams to make room in the eight
Offseason/preseason is a good time for optimism.

We all wait to see if all the promise can be fulfilled.

Lads im a huge fan of what the dons are doing I reckon you were a couple of inside mids this year from top 4 contenders even now your still a good show to do damage. Just don't think the 12 months off means anything because it's not as if they were depressed in the rehab group they were on holidays repairing their bodies and training.

Agreed. I was just saying we had trouble sorting out exactly what our best structure/best 22 was largely due to mixing the returning players with the 2016 side.

isn’t it the same one the melbourne storm do every year? i know it is apples and oranges comparing athletes that don’t win anything to athletes that do, but that camp seems to work in developing mental toughness
I believe only the new players do it each year at Storm. I think the whole group did it once several years ago. This is what I’ve been told anyway. Haven’t researched it.

Melbourne 6th
Dogs 7th
Hawks 8th
Saints.13th

Fair call Gavin Excell, based on various opinions a reflection of what the current thought is.

Reckon a tad harsh on the Saints dropping another couple of spots - be good to revisit this at the end of the season

I see saints going one step back before leaping forward in that classical development of a young team curve

Only the biggest game for Melbourne since 2006
Young teams can get complacent and in the modern game run ons can and do happen.

We also beat Adelaide in Adelaide, West Coast in Perth, and thrashed your mob and Footscray at our bogey ground (and your home ground).

How was our "application" those days.

You'll see a different Melbourne team in 2018 injuries permitting.
