I'd prefer Dyson on him I think. Hocking is better staying on a guy who will follow the ball. Deledio can go forward and I think Dyson has more experience playing back and can hurt him more if he's the one following him there.

I know this is from left field but I would try Gus on him, I heard an interview on SEN the other day and Gus was saying how he would love to have a stint in the midfield.
I would give him the job on Lids and play Winda up forward.
Giving guys like Gus this responsibility may give him the confidence to take the next step?
We could have a good run with player, you just never know, take Welsh for example.

Considering he plays quite a bit on the HF flank he wont have only one player go to him.
I would give Dempsey the job on him when he goes forward as Dempsey has the pace and overhead skills to match him.
When he pushes into the midfield i would probably give Hocking first crack.
Too risky to simply let our mids go head to head and not tag him.
The reason he hasnt been as effective this season is because clubs now realise how damaging he is and have been tagging him heavily.
If we dont tag him we will run him back into form. This is a certainty.

Amen. They should be worrying about who they match up on us. Who is gonna stop Watson getting 50 possies. Went and watched the tigers play brisbane 2 wks ago and they were disgraceful. Their backline is terribly shaky, they couldnt contain Brown and Bradshaw, so put Lloydy in the square and Neagle 15m out. Id back us to win the ball and hopefully win the game if we dont have an absolute shocker!

i totally agree. im really glad that dyson has answered his critics and has found some consistency. always thought hes had potential, and would be good to see him given responsibility with big tasks.

wait for richmond to make the first move by seeing who they mark watson, lovett and stanton with. if they want to go head-to-head with those players they're in trouble.
after that we'll see who we want to shut down. tuck and deledio are the really the only ones i care about shutting down given johnson and cousins are injured.

I don't mind if we don't tag Deledio the more I think about it. I worry a bit about Foley and to a lesser extent Tuck and White but I think most of their mid's will be chasing tail for the game.
Put Slattery on him.

I'm expecting Lid's to play mid, so I doubt that Slattery will play on him. I expect Dyson or Hocking.

deledio really only gives a 1 quarter burst and is just solid for the next 3.

Yeah I agree. I don't like it either, but you do what you have to do to win aslong as it's within the rules, and Bowden was well within the rules last year.
