To satisfy my curiosity, do you know which one it was?
Can't recall who it was against, but there was 1 game where he took quite a few marks & kicked a few goals (don't reckon it would have been against strong opposition).

Tut tut.

Schell may have ended up a dud, but give credit where credit is due. That particular game was against the strongest opposition of all - the Lions.

He played FF and led very well, kicked 4.1 or 4.2 on Michael/Leppitsch. Took a couple of screamers as well.

He read the ball well in the air, pity he couldnt get it together consistently.

And they say that pig's can't fly!! :p

It was against strong opposition, Kane.

Schell took 5 marks and kicked 4 goals against Brisbane in his first year with us (2002).

Should be a candidate for Ripley's "believe it or not"

Arrrh, that's right. At least I remembered he played 1 decent game (just forgot against who), which isn't bad considering I'm trying to erase him from my memory! :D

If he'd been a bit bigger in the upper body I reckon he would've been alright.

... & that he was sharing Marsh's missing heart.

I actually think Schell played 2 decent games for us. We all remember him kicking 4 goals on Mal Michael against Lions in 2002.

Another game where he got my votes was in round 4 against Sydney when Fitzy kicked 4 against his old club. Mark Stevens got cleaned up early in the first quarter and took no further part in the game. Schell came on and played CHF. He took 7 marks (5 contested) and kicked a goal. He played well that day and personally I would have rated that game better than his game against Lions.

I agree with DT on the trade/delist/keep list.

Doughty has been solid this year and deserves to be kept BUT if we can get something decent in return for him I would trade him.

I reckon Stenglein is definetly gone and Massie is tradeable.

No, I will keep the same username, actually. Just like I'll keep the number on the back of my guernsey.

I've still got my no. 16 David Marshall guernsey. And I'd wear it too if only I was still the same size as I was when I was 10.

Sadly we think of players as there currently playing, and Massie has been out of form.
But his hardness is an attribute this club needs to hang on to.

We wouln't have contemplated it at the end of last year, we just need to get him back in form.
Trialling of kids at present is also holding him back qand maybe the kick up the backside he needs for next year;)

I agree with that. I guess we'll wait and see.

In relation to Dogga, I guess I'm just not convinced. If he was a 21 yo fringe player, I'd be keener to keep him. At 25 - how much more improvement is in him? I agree with WW again, its pretty tight atm.

Totally agree. At the moment he's travelling OK - but just OK - and to be honest, if we were a top-eight side looking at a Premiership tilt he (and others) would be struggling to make the side.

That's what we've got to ask ourselves. If we are to become a serious threat again in the coming seasons, will the likes of Michael Doughty be in our first 18, and with the answer almost certainly being no, then what's the point of him taking up a spot on the list that could go to a developing youngster?

On the basis that there isn't a lot of difference between all the usual suspects, the determinations on who should go and who shouldn't will to a large extent be determined by how much value each individual can attract at the trade table.

Players such as Massie may be worth 3rd, 4th rounders. Adelaide should probably do these deals. If they do then players like Gallagher, Skipworth etc, who will get no offers may survive.

Craig has come out in lavish praise of Doughty's recast as a running defender and said he is a definite part of our future.

Neil Craig? Wow, I rest my case.
