With that Draft excitement out of the way, who is Collingwood lined up to rookie list?

Mullins? - apparently some MM comment about when you're off, you're off; so unlikely?

Jarrad? - he's there in Willi anyway to view, and what happened second half of last year? He disappeared.

Jolley - skinny ruckroving captain of Vic Metro; good defensively as well as inside; needs beefing up

Jesse D. Smith - tough, head over the ball centreman and forward; not blistering pace

Sharp - onball, HBF

May - onball goalsneak; not as quick as Egan.

Bain - outside, goalkicking winger, apparently with a defensive worry or two which may not endear him to MM

rumour is these are all training at other clubs; who's training at Collingwood? Mention recently of Falovic (raw 201 cm ruckman training with us) and Balmey at end of season said he was sussing out Lawry (spelling unsure) from Willi as a possible rookie.

No doubt the sky is open. Any insights?

[thanks, so far you've added to the possible mix:

Pearce
Betts
Becker]

Well embarrassing to see Josh Mahoney win a premiership and we couldn't see him even win a senior game with us. Wouldn't want that to be a case of Jarrad-ing us as well. Any idea why Jarrad seemed missing in action late last season? Injury?

As far as I know he wasn't injured, maybe he just peaked too early in the year.

We're not playing basketball.

Pearce and Betts are small. As are the jarrad/jolley/smith/sharp/may choices. Great things, they say, come in small packages. When we find our next Tony Francis, we find our next chance at numero uno.

Iacobucci = Francis. ;)

becker looks alright, betts as well, but other clubs may take them up before we get the chance

wouldnt mind seeing a few of those willi boys that have been mentioned ie: lawry and jarrad getting a chance, they will be back at willy anyway so having them as rookies would be a bonus

forget mullins at collingwood....as much as id like to see him get a crack again, not at collingwood cos MM would ******** him around again
also forget falovic, if we perservere with crow there is no need for falovic as they are sort of the same except crow has a couple of years on falovic

are we keeping leonard on the rookie list?

Off topic but:

Can I ask that we stop making up verbs? "Rookie" is an American term for a first year player. There is no way, in the English language, to "rookie" someone. Nor is there a way to "goal" in a match or "medal" at the Olympics.

Sorry, pet peeve.

You know, that seems like a reasonable request, but you know what...

Nope, not gonna happen :p

I'd tell you to f..uck off, but you might take offence at my use of the f-word as an adverb!!

Is this the Fanning guy we got in last year's wookie draft??

well, English has indeed evolved by making up verbs and turning life into the vernacular. Of course some may prefer it verboten to do so from the American, as opposed to other sources. That's a matter of taste. For some, it may not now be possible to "medal" or "rookie", but at Collingwood we are going to "premiership".
