Been wondering what it will take for us to take those next two big steps to not only get into a Grand Final, but to win it. Here's my list of the key influencing factors for an improved 2023 over our 2022:
  • Good Run with injury (like all other sides): we need to ensure that Naics, Jaics, Crisp, De Goey, Cameron/Cox, Moore, IQ, Bruz, Adams, Mihocek, Ginni, Elliot, and Howe don't have a serious injury and are all on the park for finals
  • One of Frampton or Dean to become a first 18 defender who can limit the effectiveness of the opposition's key forward
  • Two of our emerging forwards to become first 18: AJ, Reef, Hill, McCreey, Wilson, HH
  • One of our emerging mids/wings to become first 18: Carmichael, Arlo, Macrae, Allen, Bianco
  • Good return from our two key signings - Titch to become our number 1 clearance player, McStay to become a target for the kick outside D50, and a presence inside F50 - as a metric, we'd be looking at him becoming a 1.5 goal per game player and taking 5 or more contested marks per game

Is that too much to ask?

Your very last point is too much to ask. Noone gets remotely close to 5 contested marks a game. 2 a game has you high up in the league. Lynch went at over 3 last year and a few others over 2.

Good point, got a bit carried away - let's say closer to 2.5
1.5 goals a game would equal his best season ever so a reasonable aim but 1.2 would still be prety good. 2.5 contested marks per game is double his career average, 1.5 a good aim I would think, he has managed that or better 3 out of 9 seasons
