I love the type of player Dan Hannebery is, but Dangerfield for mine. His strength and acceleration around clearances, and his run- and- carry in space with the capability to push forward and be dangerous is exactly what we need more of in our midfield stocks. On a needs basis I think he is the best fit. The cost to obtain the other three would not be worth it in my opinion, both financially and in terms of players and/or picks.

Dangerfield 100%

We have a very good group of young midfielders coming through, I prefer to get a more experienced player for when Swan retires.

If we get Dangerfield, only god knows what I will do.

I had a dream we got Dangerfield. He was wearing number 32 which is Cloke's number, but then I saw him burst out from the pack and hit Cloke lace out.

One of the Suns young bigs would be more useful to us.

Only one of any interest should be Lynch. Don't rate Day, Dixon misses too many through injury, and we don't need/want any expensive key backs like Thompson, in fact the only key backs we should be interested in are 18yos as we have plenty in their early to mid 20s.

Surely Swanny doesn't hang around that place? It's full of 16 year olds.

Not too sure if he still does, I'd seen him around there back when I used to DJ.. Unfortunately, I did see a flick of Jamie Elliott there the other week.. Dumb idiots!

Realistically, Who would you rather pick up.
-Dan Hannebery (Rumour he wants to come home to Victoria if a big contract is offered)
-Patrick Dangerfield
-James Aish
-Adam Treloar

Easily Dangerfield, over any of those people.

We already have too much talent and not enough senior spots.
Pay someone too much and kids will start leaving looking for better money.
We will do well just to use our draft picks, develop and keep the talent we have, and do some good trading.
I like this post so much and it is so sensible and I agree 100% with the points it makes,do people remember when we brought Barry Mitchell in from the Swans and how that ended he was gone after 1 season.
I do not mean Mitchell as a player was finished because he went Carlton and he was okay there but our team had just won in the flag and it did not go down well.

BBB is exactly correct we do not need to bring in some big names I would be more than happy to bring in a few Crisps because he fits our age profile perfectly, what we must remember is that we have not even seen Shazza,Moore,Freeman,JDG and others yet.

What I would like to draft would be 1Kpback and 1Kpforward and then we would be covered in all areas for 7 or 8 seasons and we would be laughing.

I must say I love this post again it makes so much sense and I am going to give a couple of them emotecons or whaterver they are called.:):thumbsu:

Definitely one of Dangerfield or Treloar. Danger for the short term, Treloar long term. I think Danger suits a more direct need though which is why I want him. He is EXACTLY the sort of midfielder we don't have and have needed for years. That explosive burst big bodied mid. We've just never had it and I think it would top off our list nicely.

Wonder which wording the thread title will use next week.

Is jack revolt out of contract this year n free agent? Id grab him.. Although his market value when teams like fremantle could really use him might be 2 high. I actually feel sorry for him at richmond, bleed for the club and is surrounded by woeful players.

I think in last years trade period we were already discussing a potential trade for Treloar but GWS was not having any of it. So I'm not surprised pies are still linked to Treloar.

However of that list I'd prefer James Aish. You can never get enough Scott pendleburys or Simon blacks in your team. The others are great power mids but I'd pick a quality user everyday of the week.

Any of them would be nice however I'm with the posters who say none of the above.

We have midfield options galore already and the cost of any of these guys would force others out via cap pressure.

We desperately need cover for Cloke.

We have only two key backs assuming Keeffe gone, awaiting Marsh I guess and can't rely on Ben Reid.

Let's learn from those Bears midget brains and not overstock with mids at the expense of a spine.

Why are all the options midfielders when we need a KPF.

We will be overflowing with midfielders when Kennedy and De Goey force themselves into the 22 and Sidebottom/Greenwood come back from injury
Dangerfield becomes nearly our best player with Pendlebury. You wouldn't want that? Dangerfield could play just about anywhere on the ground and he would in his own ball.
