tough job looking at who to delist this year, We have to delist 4 dont we? This is how I see our list.

possible delisting
Alessio- probably safe due to lack of ruck strength
Bannister- hasn't shown enough
Bullen- tough, but he's certainly not safe
Davies- same as Bannister
Forster Knight- see Bullen

I was just about to post a new thread about this - just beat me to it:

My choices:

Delisted:
Daniel McAlister - no reasons needed
Jordan Bannister - just lacked the hardness to be part of the Essendon midfield (could stay if he bulks up)
Gary Moorcroft - 2 good games in 2 years just doesn't cut it, needed more consistency as a small forward, not as an impact bench player

Retired:
Paul Salmon - just 1 year too old now - could go on
Steven Alessio - struggled for good part of 2 years now (except against the Swans)

Possibles:

Ted Richards - looked out of sorts when played early in the year. Heard his VFL form was good late, so might just hang on
James Davies - another early Bomber draft pick that hasn't had an early impact in his career. Could stay based on the history of the early draft picks (McAlister, Heffernan, Bolton)
Cory McGrath - I'd hate to see Cory go, but just hasn't been able to take the next step - needs some luck
Rob Forster Knight - had an alright year, but lacks stamina to do a run-with role, and just too short for key position defender (which we have just about enough of)
Mark McVeigh - Sheeds just needs to tell him to concentrate on his footy as much as his hair - then he'll be a good player. Very Borderline (My opinion)

it'd be stupid to kick moorcroft out, especially with the trio of trades. i thought he played some really good footy towards the end of the year.

My opinion:

McAlister - Close to a sure thing. Maybe we can give his #12 to Cupido.

Alessio - depends on the status of Fish and whether or not we get a ruckman in the draft. Assuming either one of those works out, then he should probably hang up the boots. Honourable discharge for Cess, who single-handedly won a handful of games in two seasons but did SFA the rest of the time.

Bannister - I keep hearing that he is tearing up the 2s, kicking bags of goals. So why hasn't he done squat in the seniors? I predict Sheeds keeps him.

Davies - haven't seen him do anything.

McGrath - likewise, although he seems to have won the favour of a few people on here.

Bullen - From what little I saw, I liked. I'd give him another year, particularly when there have been other players here longer whom Sheeds has persisted with.

Moorcroft - I'd like to see him stay around; he still seems to be one of our best crumbing smalls. Kicks a lot of ugly goals and flies the flag as good as anybody on the list, so I think it is worth having him for those reasons alone. The problem is that he may be too one-dimensional. Seems to be a permanent interchange bench fixture.
