Its a hard question.
*It used to be Geelong, both teams battling for finals glory with the eagles coming out on top.
*Then it became Nth, teams fighting for the title of "team of the 90's".
*In the late 90's the Bulldogs came into the frame, always spitefull clashes and the now infamous Gardiner and Gehrid incidents.
*Now with our hatred for Freo one would imagine they are our nemesis.
But i tipped Nth, mainly because of the "team of the 90's" and Jako v Carey battles which have made the meetings interesting.

At times it has been North, Geelong and the Jacket Waving Bombers but i think nowadays it has to be Freo. The cross town rivalry, the fights and just the general hatred.
Funny thing is i barrack for them every weekend when there not playing the Eagles.

Then that's not true hatred is it?
My hatred of Carlton is the primary example. This hatred has lasted through the ages. Back in the 80s before WCE were a twinkle in the AFL's eye, I hated Carlton. The bitter and oft bull**** games that have been played by the two sides (one day I'll prove this by applying a statistical query to back my claims on the one-pointer games) have merely strengthened this hatred.
Has anyone noticed that their guernseys are no longer "good old navy blue" and are now black? Is it just chance that John "biggest ****er on the face of the planet" Elliot is their president? And is it also a coincidence that Scott Camporeale looks like Lucifer?
I tell you these things amount to the means by which Satan supports AFL footy.

I hate Freo passionately, mainly cos they use West Coast as their yardstick a hell of a lot, and take every possible opportunity to compare themselves favourably to their big brother over at Subi rather than concentrating on real measures of success like "getting into the finals before hell freezes over". And having a guaranteed two matches a year and lots of media hype always makes for fun times, especially when we win by 117 points
Honourable mentions go to the Dons, simply because Sheedy is always good value and so is jacketwaving (if only we could get NEAR them these days!), and the Doggies cos we have played some rippers against them in the past (8 goal quarter to them followed by 8 goal quarter to us, Fraaaase whacks an ump, our last win under Mick, etc.)
I just hate Carlton and Collingwood because I can. It's got nothing to do with the Eagles

I dont hate Carlton nearly as much as Essendon or Collingwood. The pies have Eddie McIdiot and Essendon just win way too much and have too many soft ****ers in there side like Lloyd, Hird, Johnson, Sheedy, Rioli.

I bet if we were to give 5 points to the one hated most down to 1 point for the 5th most hated that the bulldogs would figure quite high.

Call me narrow minded (and you'd be right) but I can't for the life of me see how anybody can watch the Carlton Blacks run on the field and not be filled with intense spite.
What about the 1995 game where Greg Williams claimed the goal that wasn't his to give them another one-pointer over us? Surely that was a defining moment? Did a lot of people here not see that one? Or do you still hate someone more? I'm afraid I don't understand.

Fremantle. I hate them more than any side. I despise them, hate their jumpers, hate their players. I will never ever (not a JH quote) have an inkling of support for them. I love to see them fold. Frockers, Dorkers, Purple Skirts, Losers.

Did we ever find out why Kickett went mad on Derby Day last year?
I've always quite liked him as a player - Mick only played him twice for us (if my memory serves me right, both away in the Melbourne mud as a forward pocket/bench player v. North Melbourne and Carlton) - admittedly it was kinda hard to break into that side.
I'd love to know what caused that rush of blood.

Well I was there in my capacity of Fremantle supporter, and abuser of your beloved eagles (as you do!) and from what I saw, that day and on tape, there is one common theme all day:

Now I have no idea, but he does come across as one annoying mother farker, so I can only assume he has some sort of mouth on him - I have never seen so many players (Clem Michael, Kicketty and Brad Dodd all jump to mind) all swing haymakers at one player before ... whatever he said/did it must have been damn good!
Also, Goldenblue, your hatred of the dockers is commendable, I must admit I feel similar about your team ... so I can definately empathise with you there - but kicketty is a dirty player?
Don't think so - not even close ... other than that derby last year, care to share another example of his dirtyness? Don't let one match cloud your judgement - even I in my passionate disllike of your club can still respect a few players for their committment and skill, and kicketty has that by the bucketfull - if every player in either of our sides played with as much heart, determination and grit, we'd be winning premierships forever!

Definately Freudian and showing a deep seated love and adoration for the Eagles. How long will it take for him to turn away from the dark side and realise what is in his heart.

LOL - not quite. I more liken it akin to seeing a car accident and slowing down to check it out, but of course having zero desire to actually be a part of it - it is a macabre fascination if you will.
No trolldo, it is just called being honest - and being objective enough that even through the deep seated hatred I have for your club, I can still respect a quality person and player, here is a list fo players past and present that I respect:
David Hart
John Worsfoldd
Michael Brennan
Chris Mainwaring
Paul Harding
Peter Sumich
Matera x 3
Glen Jakovich
Ben Cousins
Daniel Kerr
They are all I can think of off the top of my head ... but hang on a secondd, I think I can see some link between them all!
