I wonder how many of these anti-Craig people, were also opposed to him being brought to Brisbane as an assistant ??
Being an assistant is different from being the coach and interestingly he either wasn't offered the position or chose not to take it. I can't see the attraction with Craig...overtrained the players in his final years at Adelaide, lack of plan B and can't see what he did at Melbourne. But that my perception. The fact that Leigh is a part of the appointment of the coaching panel gives me confidence that they will make the best decision. I will be a tad irked by it if its Craig and will be curious as to the decision, but it won't stop me supporting the players and the club. Will just have to put my hand across my eyes when he has those shorts on or talking at press conferences.

I like the look of Leigh Tudor coach Geelong to the VFL premiership in 2007 was assistant to Mark Thompson and was assistant to Ross Lyon at the Saints when they were good and is now assistant to John Longmire. He has been at three successful clubs.

Geez, I think Leppitsch would be a good coach but I'm sort of against having him come back so soon. We've already had one favorite son and now another past great will be our coach next year if not in 2 seasons time? I'm not against Craig as coach though but I would be looking for a more diverse option than Leppitsch as a senior assistant.

Well said , the guy is a joke as a coach ! thrashed our players to no end and has never found another style of play besides the strive for perfect attacking football which simply never holds up in modern day football , especially when you run a kamikaze press the other way . look at his input in the last few years at Adelaide and more recently the MFC .

Aah, Neil Craig & the Crowbots. Run like hell in the first half, & lead at half time. But any half decent team knew that they had used all their petrol tickets & if you kept on working you would win. No plan B. No nothing. Was obvious for years - a lot more astute judges than me picked up on it. Loook up the stats.

I DO NOT WANT N CRAIG AT MY CLUB IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM.

Not defending Craig as I think I have made my lack of excitement about him clear enough, but why do people assume he will implement the same failed plan and make the same mistakes again?

If you look at the criteria the club is asking them to address, you'd think that sort of stuff is well addressed throughout the process.

His Melbourne game plan looked suspiciously similar to his Adelaide game plan?

Because at the moment that's what we have to go on - previous record and his time at Melbourne. Melbourne didn't consider him for the permanent coaching position at any stage. He may well come with a new kit bag but at the moment looking from the outside I can only make an opinion based on what his past is. Is the position then based on trust of what he might bring? Should we then appoint Timmy Watson?

What if we hire Stephen Trigg instead?
He should have been looking for a job 5 years ago .... the way your board is operating , well anything could happen . Take Chapman as well as it is a shorter commute from Sydney . I really like the way your team has been progressing the last few years and feel it was on the verge to rise but now it has been majorly disrupted . Time for a completely fresh approach ala Port Power .

It's all a moot point unless things have changed markedly in the past 48 hours....

Neil Craig will not be the senior coach at Brisbane next year

Like I said, I'm not advocating for him and I don't want him. I just don't think we can base much stock on what he did all those years ago. I would hope he has a clear understanding of what didn't work the last time. The process would seem to require him to outline a clear path for the future. If he gets the job, I will assume he must have outlined something that Leigh Matthews believed in.

Hopefully it is someone else though.

Do you have any further updates? Is the potential candidate still in the finals?
The person that I have been led to believe will be the coach is still not currently in the finals

However...IF and it is a big IF

It all goes pear shaped for one of the top 4 teams in an ugly way

Don't be surprised if a 'Ross Lyon-Fremantle' style godfather offer is launched
