who's selling Symes ???

Worth downgrading Symes to a rookie (making about $240k) and playing Ibbo in the 22?

I don't see Symes as an important player for the crows, he might have to earn his spot back even after he comes back from injury, could take as long as another 5 weeks.

Thinking similarly.:)

Ibbo is playing in the leagues worst midfield, which means he'll get decent TOG.

Yeah im dont think i will hold on to him either. Am looking at trading Ellis to Milburn this week and then maybe Symes to Goddard or Newman ? Thoughts ? This would leave me with a backline of : Burgoyne, Shaw, Birchall, Waters, Gilbee, Milburn, Goddard. Or i could hold onto Symes for a week or so and then maybe pick up Drummond depending on his form.

Get Cornes when he comes back, although that would be a good backline

I'm downgrading Symes to either Ibbotson or Wonnaeamirri this week, but I just cant decide who to get. Has to be either of these two players for my other trade to work, and providing King isnt injured one of them would be my 7th back.

Anyone favouring either one? I'm leaning towards Wonna considering how easily he would slot into the Melbourne side compared to Ibbotson and is almost 10 grand cheaper, but then again Freo arent exactly the club with the best depth.

Flip a coin or ...?

I have Wonna as my 7th defender atm, but will be downgrading Symes to Ibbotson this week as my 6th defender as well this week.

I presume whoever you get will be starting on the field? If I was you, I would go Ibbotson due to:

1. BE of -44
2. Is not rookie-listed so will not go back to rookie-list unlike Wonna.
3. Racks up more possessions than Wonna - Wonna won't kick 4 goals every week.
4. Should play all year in midfield/flanks
5. More trade value later

If you are looking to play them all year, definitely go Ibbo.

If you will be looking to upgrade them in about 4-5 weeks, toss of a coin... if you get Wonna you may be forced to trade at an inconvenient time though. I will be looking to upgrade Wonna in about 4-5 weeks though, should hit 250k.

My current backline is:
Birchall, Milburn, Brett Jones, Symes, Mattner, Gram, Ibbotson

With Pfeiffer and SD Thompson on the bench.

Should i do the simple thing and trade out Symes for Heath Shaw?

Or do i trade out Mattner who is currently dropping rapidly and this is assuming Pfeiffer/SD Thompson are named to cover Symes.

The advantage of trade option 2 is that Symes isnt losing Value. While Mattner is.

And the hope is that eventually i go:
Symes and Mattner -> Heath Shaw and Chad Cornes.

Its just a matter of whats the better way to go about it?

Help needed.

after some thorough calculations & meticulous planning i've gone with

Symes -> P.Burgoyne :(

not excited about doing the singleton, but it was the only logical move considering the standard of the min wage backs.
my backs currently read:
- Cornes
- Burgoyne
- Shaw
- Bowden
- Milburn
- Birchall
- Ibbotson
- (SDT)
- (NJB)
wasn't prepared to cop more 0s for a player averaging 77ppg.
the 326k pricetag on Symes made it easy to acquire a gun in Bugoyne.
now i can finally concentrate on other areas of my team.

I have to do the same thing. Really don't want to trade him but I will have two 0s if I don't.
I am deciding between Burgoyne, Goddard and Bock.
Can I ask why you went Burgoyne?
My current backs are:
Shaw
King
Cornes
Bradshaw
Milburn
S.Fisher
Symes
with Proud and Selwood as emergnecies

Bock's average of 89ppg is surely unsustainable. he is due for some low scores down the track.

Goddard is coming off a knee reco and i just don't trust him at this stage. injury fears are a relevant factor in my book.

Burgoyne is in career best form relishing a halfback position. his current average of 82ppg seem below par. i would expect some high scores are just around the corner.

Bock may well sustain that average or at least get close to it Tippaz. What most people outside of crows supporters don't realise is that he's playing CHB consistantly this season, where is much better suited (I've been crying out for it for years). This has resulted in Bock having a much better (and consistant) season this year both in real football and DT terms. Given the quality of defenders this year in dream team, Bocks a keeper for sure and you'd even consider trading him in.

I don't trust Goddard either, options are limited though...

Senior Burger is close to career best cheap stat form, relishing an unaccountable role and racking up chip kick marks. The actual effect he has on a game is limited though (I found it laughable that so many "experts" thought he should have won the medal in the 150 years match). Nonetheless he is one of the best pickups as a defender yes. Don't get me wrong, he's in my team so I love it!

i cant see why ppl are a little annoyed at having to trade symes, he wont match his BE again, an he has peaked

there are like 3 qual defenders at under 300,000

Let me run you through it.

a) Symes could average over 75 and would have been a nice fit for your 7th back all year.

b) It's a trade - if you were to trade him to Milburn/Gilbee it's really only worth an extra 5-10pts a game. People want better trades then that.

c) Who gives a toss what his B/E is. It's only relevant if you were looking to off load him in the next 3 weeks. Everyone has more pressing concerns then then a defender averaging 70's.

Anyone that had symes knows nothing about football because he is the $hitest marsupial ive ever seen. id have courtney johns in my team before symes, ffs if u have him GET rid of the rat and pick up BROWNE! in conclusion symes shit house, browne mediocore

MAte browne isnt available in the backs.... Just goes to show that anyone that takes your post seriously would be as you say a "Shit Marsupial".

I am really in a pickle with copping two zeroes unless i trade one of waters or symes.

i could get Johncock or p burger with symes but i really dont want to use another trade leaving me with only eleven. Does anyone know how many weeks he is out for cause waters apparently will only be out for something like one week at the most two.

So do i get rid of waters for Johncock?

Or Symes for peter Burger?

Or not trade at all

Scenario 1.

Trade out Cornes and Symes for Woona and Birchall/Stiffy/Bock/Gilbee/Mcleod/Goddard.

Leaves me $260,000 - do not play man down.

Scenario 2*

Keep Chad and trade Symes for Woona and upgrade Stanton to Corey/Bartel/Swan/Goodies

I have Thompson and Hansen on bench and will be a man down until Cornes comes back or Thompson gets another game (____ u laidley)

Leaves me $120,000 - upside is most have traded out Chad, i will have him when he returns.

You've just shown everyone that you have no clue.

Decided to trade Symes as I also had the Chad and Edwards not playing in my backline .

came down to either P.Burgoyne/Bock or MacDonald . All around the same money as Symes ... went for Bock

How I would love to go back in time and undo last rounds trade of Mattner --> Goddard and change it to Symes --> Goddard.

Oh well you cant win them all.

Symes has to go this week, or else I have 2 zeroes, and say goodbye to any chance of finishing in the top 50.

Will probably do the sideways(ish) trade of Symes --> Milburn. It is sideways in a sense, in that I will only gain 5-10 points per round (max), but Im also gaining 200 points over the next 3 weeks when Symes is not playing, therefore in the grand scheme of things it is 15-20 points per round.

I wouldnt say that is a sidways trade.
Its only sideways if Symes is fit to play IMO.

Im planning not to trade Symes unless someone gets injured in the backline and I need backup (I have Cornes and Symes on the bench).

Hopefully nothing happens so I can do my trades I am planning for next week.

Mattner --> Milburn (I make money MAYBE:D)
Houli/Palmer --> Swan

Then the week after I am hoping to get Valenti if he keeps his spot!

Who is a keeper out of Bradshaw and Symes. I have no cover for Symes and Bradshaw is soon going to lose a heap of cash.
Which one do I keep? I dont mind a couple of donuts for him as im only going for a league win but will Bradshaw outscore him for the year?

Both are keepers in my opinion.

Im looking to trade one to Milburn and then see how waters injury is. Then I will trade Waters or the one I didnt trade -> Mcphee/Burgoyne/Birchall etc.

What do you suggest BW4PM?
