Actually, I think the reason he explained it was something even more pathetic.

Everyone (most people) would know what the expression means, even if they thought it was weird to apply it in an AFL context.

But it would be vitally important to Rucci that he explain the source, because this shows that He Are A Big International Sports Guru who is totally au fait all the exotic terminology of World Sport, as well as being on first name terms with the coaches and playing staff of The Oilers, The Steelers, The Orioles, Man Utd, AC Milan …

The press conference was a disgrace.

It was virtually the Michaelfkgangelo Rucci show as he questioned Craig repeatedly about Adelaide's shortcomings and highlighted the fact that they couldn't beat Port, asking Craig if Port was the Crows Daddy etc etc.

Neil Craig showed grace and composure under this disgraceful line of questioning that had nothing to do with the Collingwood game.

Rucci on the other hand is not even fit to be an assistant reporter for the "WatchTower".

This year he has lost all objectivity and any last scrap of fairness .

He is an absolute disgrace to the profession of journalism and its accepted standards.

This is nothing new for Ferrethead.

I remember when he first started in 93 he suggested that Football Park should be nicknamed "The Nest".

He had returned from the USA and his reason was the all the American stadiums have nicknames so we should too.

It was one of the silliest things I'd read at that point. He followed that with an opinon piece on the SANFL proclaiming that the SANFL was dead!

I knew right then and there we were dealing with an absolute clown.

BTW - I heard that John Cahill had a go at Ferrett over his comments yesterday. Is that true, what did Jack say?
