No matter where you sit at the footy, there's always a moron within earshot, and it's far and away more prevalent in club members areas. I've had a reserved seat for 3 years which I refuse to sit in.

Groups together, whose football knowledge is non-existant, sprouting expletive-laden insults from start to finish at both Carlton players and the opposition, all the while surrounded by women and kids. It really is a disgrace. People seem to lose comprehension of the fact that they're in a public place. Pigs.
Basically the same. Expect player abuse from opposition supporters but just can't cop it from ours. I sit in GA with a $700 membership card in my wallet.

Was one of them wearing a pair of Black Swiss runners, Tan Zegna jeans, three quarter brown coat and a 45mm Crocodile Skin belt with gilt eyelets?
You absolute nong! :D:thumbsu:

Not a good thing to happen whether the details are accurate or not obviously there was an incident. ..

Personally I think us fans at the footy should take a little responsibility sometimes. .. Often we see issues from our own team's fans and turn a blind eye to it when a few carefully chosen words could defuse things. ..

Understand that there are risks with getting involved in situations but its stronger when a fellow fan is the one telling the group to calm down. .. Stronger again when someone takes responsibility and reigns their friends in when they are behaving badly. ..

Guilty of turning a blind eye occasionally myself but I have managed to calm down a couple of situations before and feel the risk was worth it. ..

Most memorable was last year in the Crows v Carlton game, a Carlton supporter was being a little rowdy and a Crows supporter took umbrage but didn't handle it well. .. They argued back and forth for a while before standing up and doing the usual step outside routine. .. I took the risk stood up and told them both (looking directly at the Carlton supporter) to sit down and watch the game. .. To my surprise they both settled and sat back down and there was no more issues. ..

Not always the solution but if more people sensibly defused situations, especially mates of the people involved then it would be better for everyone. ..

Admittedly I like to sit in areas that have mostly couples and families to avoid having to deal with this stuff. .. Not all rowdy fans are bad though if they remain in the right humour and avoid being offensive. ..

At least with fools from the opposition you don't have to deal with mindless garbage about the same players over and over and over and over again. That's why i choose to sit GA as well. Its generally much more pleasant as you've said.

They'll ride a player they have a hate on, he'll never do anything right and on the times he does a nice piece of play, they'll roar with sarcastic delight. Some of them don't even scream their names out correctly. Some old bugger last year calling Emu "Bowyer" all day, ffs.

And here I was looking forward my first year as a reserved member. :(

Nothing irks me more than Carlton supporters who get stuck into our own. The crap Henderson's copped from people I know has driven me up all the wall. Am compelled to tell these morons to **** off when they celebrate a Blues victory.

Was sitting near the Richmond cheer squad last Thursday with my missus and my sister. Safe to say, I don't think we'll be going to the same fixture next year if it's a Richmond home game. Haven't seen that many fights at a game since the late 80s. Most coinciding with Yazz's goal in the last. A whole section just next to us got ejected, which I'm presuming were the mob who ended up in the paper. Don't think the story is as cut and dried as reported (is it ever?). Media hype, booze and general agro got the mob at the Punt Rd end more fired up than I've ever seen them and it turned ugly in the end. I broke up two fights myself after the siren as there was kids and lasses in the middle of it.

At one point the two lasses I was with were spat on and copped a verbal from behind us. I turned around to find it was a couple of teenage lasses with their Dad who were responsible. I confronted the bloke who hightailed it out of there F-bombs and C-bombs flying all over the joint. Footy, the family game.

Spitting on somone is such a low dog act. Im not a violent guy Sparky but I would have seriously lost it if someone spat on me or my girlfriend. Cudos to you for not punching his lights out

Seriously what is wrong with people? Why cant people just go to the football and enjoy the game. I can understanda bit of banter between opposition supporters but fighting and spitting on each other? Disgraceful
