In The Age this morning:

North yesterday held a training session that began at 5pm, replete with a sausage sizzle.
It was a one-off that drew more than 500 people and, more importantly, fostered an environment of inclusiveness, but it is one that the club is contemplating making a regular feature. Most clubs now train early in a working day in front of no more than a hand full of trainspotters.

Sounds like an excellent way for Melbourne to build its Casey support base - invite the local Primary Schools down one afternoon and have training + signing session + clinic + BBQ. C'mon Dees, get onto it.

Weve been doing to old sausage sizzle at training for years.

Good idea to be inviting local schools down though. Perhaps a sausage sizzle and some kick to kick/autographs at the end of training with a couple of players.

Would make a nice change to the usual P.E. class for some of the kids.

[Insert obligatory joke about holding a sausage sizzle just to raise money]
