The Palestinians and Isreali's both have to learn to live together and get on with life. They are essentially the same blood and essentially the same religion and enjoy the same food. The destructive 10% on either side should not be listened to and dealt with appropriately so the other 90% can live in harmony.

False. Most Israelis descend from Europeans and Americans.

It sounds great PR but it's a utopian view because there is a gigantic power imbalance and it requires good faith on both sides.

Israel is powering along economically with the considerable help of the billions of dollars in aid from the US and because that aid is significantly military they have much to gain by tension remaining. And, as has been shown in another thread, there are many members of the Israel ministry who have a hatred of Palestinians.

Palestinians, on the other hand, live in poverty, terror, witness their land and livelihoods ripped from them and get comparatively little help from the rest of the world. They are largely powerless. Who stands to gain in the event of peace and who stands to lose?

Whenever any hopeful signs of peace emerge it's the Zionists who have snuffed them out. Going back to the last honourable leader, Yitzhak Rabin, who when making strides toward peace was assassinated by one of his own. Up to now where Palestinian land is being annexed by the day with Palestinians thrown off their land in a most inhumane manner.

The ways to peace seems to me to be for the US to stop supporting the occupation and oppression and take action to force Israel to negotiate in good faith. The extremely well organised and powerful Zionist propaganda machine will ensure that never happens. Another is for all the Arab states to form a block in opposition to the tyranny. Again, that is a pipe dream. The most likely is the BDS movement which is having a positive effect. So much so the tyrannical regime in Israel is turning against their own by instituting travel bans on good Jewish folk who want the inhumanity to stop and who speak out against the oppression and in favour of boycotts.

all governments have a responsibility to serve ALL their people. I just don't accept racial division as I don't accept racial intolerance or discrimination.

I'm amused though that some support racial segregation but also support 18c. It seems a case of words are more offensive than action.

Appreciate your view, but as I've put it shows little understanding of the history or the present day issues.

Is that supposed to be funny?

Just highlighting your claim is not correct.

Take a look at the bloodlines in Israel and you’ll see there is a blood link to 75% of the population.

It proves little though as people of all blood and or religion have a legal responsibility to get along.

They have to get over it or pay a huge cost as we saw in Ireland and every other busted arse place fighting over irrelevant history.

As per Ireland, once they focused their energy positively, the nations economy boomed and at the same time pushed religion into the ever increasing irrelevance.

The same will happen in Israel and in 100 years people will giggle over the stupidity of religion let alone dying or killing for it.

That doesn’t mean property rights, human rights and redress of grievance protocols can be ignored. But whining about something that happened to someone else is unhelpful. Also boycotting only prolongs the pain and suffering as poverty entrenched religion and prosperity kills it.

"From now on by court decree, two types of blood exist in Israel: Jewish blood and non-Jewish blood."

Even if it had until the end of time, Israel and the Jewish nation will never be able to compensate the Palestinian nation for all the harm they have done to it. Not for the material harm nor the intellectual harm, the physical harm nor the spiritual harm. Not for the plunder of their land and property, nor for their trodden freedom and dignity. Not for the killing and bereavement, nor for the people who were injured and disabled, their lives irrevocably ruined. Not for the hundreds of thousands of innocents who were tortured and imprisoned, nor for the generations who were denied a fair opportunity for a normal life.

But all this is not enough. This week a new record was set. Jerusalem District Court Judge Moshe Drori ruled that a Jew who was injured in a terrorist attack is entitled to additional compensation, because he is a Jew, without proof of any damage, based on the nation-state law, which states that the government will strive to protect the well-being of Jews.

What Israel is doing is clearly racist. As for Israel protecting itself from terrorism, check out the following and you'll see where the real terrorism is. You live in denial or a parallel universe. Maybe both.

Why does noone ever mention the mass exodus of Christians from Israel and Palestine (not to mention other ME countries)?

Bethlehem Mayor Anton Salman strongly criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, calling on the premier to stop "using Christians as a tool to whitewash the occupation."

"The decrease in the percentage of Christians in Bethlehem, as well as in the rest of Palestine," said the statement, "was provoked with the Nakba of 1948 and is ongoing due to Israel's colonial plans and policies that started in 1967."
"It is shameful that while calling himself a 'protector of Christianity,' [Netanyahu] he would use Christians as a tool for his Islamophobic talking points," the mayor wrote.

Some positve news. Of course the usual obsequious lackies - we're at the front of the queue with the tin tanks - voted in the negative.

UNITED NATIONS — The 193-member United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday allowed the Palestinians to act more like a full UN member state during meetings in 2019 when they will chair the group of 77 developing nations.

The United States, Israel, and Australia voted against the move, which won 146 votes in favor. There were 15 abstentions and 29 countries didn't vote.

Hagai El-Ad's address to the UN Security Council A man of courage and compassion.

The Gaza Strip, with a population of nearly two million, has essentially become an open-air prison. Its inmates have been staging protests for the past six months, after suffering for more than a decade under an Israeli-imposed blockade that has led to economic collapse, soaring unemployment rates, polluted drinking water and dwindling power supplies, and ultimately, to deep despair.

False. Most Israelis descend from Europeans and Americans.
And isn't that the source of the problem. Palestinians (Christian and Muslim) who had lived in the area for centuries suddenly lose their land and properties and now live in ghettos. Any wonder why they are angry?
