Just wanna say we got a 2017 4th rounder a future 3rd rounder AND sam murray for our future 2nd......at first i was pissed but he looks ok plus we got 2 picks
So pick #70 in a shallow draft makes it ok when we already have #55 and 60?

You are too easily pleased. I thought you were made of sterner stuff!

He is a needs based recruit but so is our future second needed. I'm giving until the end of next year to See if this was an inspired call or a very stupid one.

Before jumping off the cliff people lets just see what Murray produces next year, reminds me a bit of Nick Malceski. Did we pay overs? Yea, probably, but we always tend to have difficulty in getting a fair trade compared to others.

Obviously quiet this year because we had limited picks ( no 2nd rounder ) and had no players of value seeking a trade.

Looking forward to seeing Lynch in the forward line from 2019 onwards.

Hang on a minute...

1) the club has already determined that Hine will revert back to his old role, and acknowledges that he is not a good manager. The entire footy department would have made the call, headed by the footy director. You can’t hang a man twice for the same crime, past indescretions are in the past.

2) he was a category b rookie right? Means he was an academy pick or how did he get on their list? Most of you know nothing about him (myself included), has pace and can kick...these are two massive needs for us at the moment. What are his weaknesses? Hine has an astounding ability to pick talent, diamonds in the rough. So why not take a half glass full approach? My original thought was we overpaid, it’s done now...maybe the footy department know more than I do?

3) don’t fall for the trap of judging this trade and comparing it to Mayne, Williams, Witts, Seedsman etc. judge it on its merits.

4) can’t remember

Not Many are Complaining the Type of Player he is as it's something we do need BUT we paid a very Steep Price for Rookie Listed Player who has played 0 games of AFL Footy

That’s your opinion and admittedly mine, what if he ends up being a great player? The same people were complaining about Varcoe, Howe, WHE. I’m taking the approach that they know more than I do about footy talent and have done their due diligence... especially after the Mayne fiasco

Its not an issue of can the kid play or not. He could become an all time great its that he wasnt contracted, not even on a senior list and our GM stated that we were quiet this year because we had no 2nd round pick and therefore had no flexibility. Well and behold, we trade next years 2nd round pick and will have no flexibility again!

Just watched Derek Hines explanation and he makes it sound like it was a no brainer. This is incompetence at its highest. He mentioned he plays a but like A. SAAD but we paid a bit more!

2 years in a row we look like fools after trade period.

Well then it looks like a Good Trade but still does not mean we still overpayed for him

Our Trades last years where okay. Getting WHE and Dunn. Was our Free Agency Moves that where Baffling

Need a bastard coated bastard for trading.

Gubby Allan?
He fits the criteria.

Hine should be judged on recruitment at the draft, specifically Pick 6, I have it as pick up a Hine special.
In Hine we must trust, he's landed some talented first rounders, believe in him now and we will be right.
