If you can't see what Cotch has that will make him better than not just Lids but just about every bloke in the league, I'm not sure me explaining it is going to help you. We're just lucky we have both, and Martin.:thumbsu:

Deledio's season has been criminally underrated. To consistently perform the way he has is a credit to him. Best player at the club and is fulfilling his potential.

In the past you would question whether he'd be on coming into a game. Now I am confident he will give his all every game.

Trent Cotchin....well he's just all sorts of special isn't he?

Who said they do??

Both are very good.

Cotchin still hasn't got fit enough to determine how good he can be in regards to being elite while Deledio is already there.

I think people are getting ahead of themselves regarding Cotchin but no doubt he could be a great player!!

lets just pray he can get through a pre-season. It's scary to think how good he will be.

There are a number of reason why people think Cotchin will be better than Deledio.

1. Deledio can fade in and out of games.
2. Cotchin has great leadership skills.
3. Cotchin is very good at getting his own ball.
4. Deledio hasn't performed as some people would like whilst being tagged.
5. There is still a 'what if' about Cotchin as he hasn't had a full pre season etc. Where as Deledio is fully fit.
6. Cotchin is a true centre player whereas Deledio gets used everywhere as he has so many talents.
7. Sometimes Deledio's demeanor inclines people to think he doesn't care and that he could be much better.

I don't think Wallace helped with both of these guys in terms of development especially with Deledio. Deledio is being kept in a position and he is thriving on it (also said this today on the Sunday footy show). Last year I was a little worried with Deledio as he seemed to stagnate but he seems to be on the up again which is good to see.

I think Cotchin stands out more which is why he would probably get more Brownlow votes.

I understand Deledio isn't as good leadership wise. But if you have actually been in the rooms you would see he isn't as quiet as you think, he has started to raise his voice a bit since wallace left. But not all great players have to be great leaders. Shouldn't take points off him for that, he was a quiet kid to begin with

Not me. Deledio is the best player at this club. Full stop.
Lids is a sublime talent, there is nothing he can't do on a footy field, I dont know where this tripe comes from...put it this way when we are in deepest rouble in the back half, I know who's hands I want the pill in...Notice whilst everyone was banging ball on boot yesterday, both Lids and cotch were delivering lace out passes...unbelievable

Cotch is younger. AFL supporters absolutely love younger, unproven players. Seriously, I've heard Demons supporters say they wouldn't trade Trengove or Scully for Cooney.
