Everywhere on the internet, I see people talking shit about about Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc... acting like they know them personally.

They don't. They only know the media's portrayal of them.

Even in the sporting world, I see people "hate" Shane Watson because he gets dismissed a few too many times LBW as if he has personally harmed others in someway.

Or even when AFL footballers are in the newspaper for a mistake (such as Luke Hodge's drink driving), people seem to permanently shame them (as if they're somehow perfect themselves).

Why are so many people judgemental of celebrities when they don't even know them personally?

Because their lives, unlike most of us, are publicly visible and talking shit about other people's shortcomings (real or perceived) is a good way to deflect the self conscious from one's own faults.

Because they're part of an industry funded to distract us. you can't say they don't know, what they're doing to us. The decent ones write songs and make movies about it, warning us about themselves.

I think a more intelligent adult question would be "why do celebrities hate us?" Their is no other way of describing what they think of us, with the way they treat us, the way they profit from it. the only people you treat us badly as us,is people you hate.

Distract from what though? I honestly have don't 100% understand what you mean.

Does Miley Cyrus shaking her butt on TV have to do with some government conspiracy?

Celebrities are out there like anyone else to make money.

They do something silly to get attention, because it gives them publicity and hence money. But so many people act like they are like that off-screen as well.

Furthermore how do you know that celebrities hate the general public?

I've never personally gotten treated badly from a celebrity, because they're probably not even aware of my existence.

Some people are douche's who young people look up to and might think their behaviour is acceptable (Bieber). This can be bad.

Others downright arse hats, and we can't deal with the notion that sometimes, being talented is enough, and people who have horrid personalities manage to live the lives they do.

People in the public eye have an expectation to behave like what we perceive as good, wholesome people.

Some people don't like others, and more people call them dickheads. No different to a few mates sitting around talking shit about some bloke they've never personally dealt with, except, imagine that bloke is a celebrity, so obviously you here more people doing it.

Personally out of all those named, I think Miley is great.

I don't really hate them but I do think it is wrong how much they get paid. Some of their earnings would be enough to feed a third world nation.

I would say this is good time for you to read upon Malcolm x and what he was about.

Did you happen to follow the Brian Williams scandal? What about Jimmy Saville?

They must have contempt to lie to us,like they do.

Look at Bob Geldof, and his African charities. He didn't care about African children starving, it was all propaganda to distract us from what we were doing to soviet friendly nations. He helped the gov con us, that they cared. Exactly like what Abbott is doing with syrian refugees. Bob Geldof used his children and other peoples children to get at his ex. Sylvester Stallone made movies glorifying al queda and painting the Russians as drug cheats. He is the biggest steroid freak of them all.

I agree there, but it's not like celebrities don't do charity. They even do it for extra publicity.

I've seen mates who have walked by homeless people and not even donate a cent to them.

To be fair, I've never heard of those cases before.

But that doesn't mean every single celebrity is potentially evil just because of a few bad ones.

Your whole last paragraph is my point.

How did you know for certain that Geldof helped African children to get back at his ex and hinder Soviet friendly countries?

How do even know wherever he cares or not about helping others? Maybe he felt good helping African kids as well as doing the Soviet and ex-wife revenge thing.

My point is that people seem to act like they know a celebrity personally from the anecdotals they hear in the media.

People always seem to identify someone negatively regardless of if they know them or not.

Also I don't see the correlation between "money" and "celebs hating people".

I want to earn money too. Does that mean I hate other people?

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

Orwell came up with the concept of Two Minutes Hate.

People just need some outlet. Perhaps they hate the concept of celebrity more than the celebrities themselves.

For some celebrities, it might be because they are narcissists and probably enjoy a lifestyle that they haven't really earned.

The US media's obsession with Justin Bieber is disturbing.

He's a cool kid with a good sense of humour and he's musically talented even if his music doesn't reflect it but he's not worthy of the attention he cops.

Some celebrities are flogs.

Some are #darlings (like Hugh Jackoff, who is probably into men but who's career would die if he admitted it).

They're just like people in general but who are subject to media who can paint them in whatever way possible.

At the same time, we'd all cash in our boring life and dreams of 100% owning a house in Bicton/Williamstown for it all.

I like the One Direction boys, all middle class and working class fellas who got lucky. Even if they are all 5'5".

But Bieber is a bitch. Has all of those 'tough guy' tattoos but doesn't realise he's just another average, skinny, pretty looking white boy who should realise his pros and stop trying to over-man himself with tats which make him look like Ruby Rose.

this except i really love his matured rnb stuff. customer came in saying how he laughs at anyone who would like jb and i let him have it. he expected me to agree with him and was in a bit of shock.

its not like people have to like him but people choose to let it be known that they hate him and its disheartening

you are apart of the haters problem. do not comment on bieber again especially because you have nfi what your talking about.

Because

1) They are genuine flogs (Red Foo looking at you you w***er) - you'd hate them if you had a beer in a pub with them if they were normal Joe Bloggs, you hate them as celebrities. Terrible personalities who stand for 1950's level values #shitpeople

2) The media saturation is unbelievable - they haven't done anything particularly wrong, but the media saturation of their lives begins to make them intolerable - you're not so much hating the person themselves, but rather getting the person shoved in your face everyday so you find faults. A lot of American celebrities here. Bieber, Kardashians, Ellen

3) We are jealous of the celebrities - money, fame, sexy, hot wife/husband etc.

4) We are trained to - the media reports every little fault they do, and picks up on it, so we do

Don't like the tough guy tatts and bouncer posse he rolls with these days.

But at the end of the day he is still that cute little Canadian kid with a talent for music.

He didn't get discovered off youtube by mistake, he does have genuine music talent, a pity he's been corrupted into some LA wannabe gangster.

When I turn on the news, I couldn't give a shit what Kim Kardashian did next. It's on Facebook, Newspaper, TV.

I mean I couldn't give a shit but when it's constantly pushed into your face I get a little pissed.
