If Fitzroy had closed their books prior to the inception of the AFL, I would be even more proud of them.

Football, as a livelihood, did not start with the AFL, in fact that's when it died.

No offence meant to supporters, I just wanted to make it known that I feel the value of football (to me) took a sizeable downturn when the AFL commenced. It's only my own opinion.
