He works far better with the MMM team because they have a sense of humour
The Channel 7 team could slot into lawn bowls and you wouldnt notice a change of intensity
i dont mind him when he tries to be funny on radio with the rest of the triple m team, but his commentary is annoying on radio and tv

Because he is considered the old "ocker" Aussie type and almost everybody on here thinks THEY can do a better job...they can't! He adds a bit of colour, a bit of pizazz, but when it comes to football everybody thinks they know best. Football is a team sport, a game of millions of variables. No statistic made can take every single factor into account, sometimes even taking the commentators by surprise, well golly gee whoa! Richo wasn't 100% correct with his prediction of rain in the next 5 minutes, but it did eventually rain!! You have your armchair experts who cringe at the use of Australian colloquialisms, yet hypocritically use them all day themselves, they are also the stat nerd who thinks he is smarter than the commentator, and he loves making sure everyone knows it! "Listen to that idiot Taylor, he doesn't know what he's talking about" they holler this at their TV expecting a comeback? Taylor does a fine job translating the game to the viewer, he's different to McAveney and Cometti and thank god for that. It's not easy commentating Aussie Rules, the game moves at such a fast pace and has so many variables, i don't envy the commentators sometimes, they are judged way too harshly IMO.

Poor BT, he has to commentate with Luke ******* Darcy. Cut him some slack.
Luke Darcy is a man im confused how he got in the media Radio and TV. he is crap at commentating, a lack of a personality, isn't funny & comes across as rather arrogant!

to top it off, i was down in melbourne a few months ago, catching up with mates at a pub having a few beers as you do & watching some of the pre season stuff, next thing i see Darcy on the TV reading the sport:eek::confused:

that bloke has to have some real incriminating evidence that has Eddie pulling strings to get Darcy those jobs

He focuses in on some decision/subject and goes on about it for ages when in reality it has no impact on the play and he should just be telling us what is happening.

Also we know you kicked goals but you don't have to tell us which way the ball needs to travel to go through the goals, 99% of people know it and even then you get it wrong half the time.

I can't stand him. He always harps on and on and on about some maufactured bugbear issue like the boundary umpires not throwing it in far enough or an interchange official or some stupid comment Richo or Darcy made three quarters ago.

i love BT. he's entertaining and injects some much needed energy into he commentary box.

the only people who don't like him are those serious people who think the entire world is a cancer ward

Anyone except Dermott and Shaw.

TBH Bruce actually annoys me quite a bit. That thing where he makes his voice deeper to accentuate a point is cringeworthy.

BT is the best commentator on TV, very entertaining. I listen to MMM though. Some people prefer the just 'calling the game'. Others prefer a bit of spice. I can see why those introverted keyboard warriors hear on bigfooty find it uncomfortable though.

He's from the Ol' Hex Runt School of commentary. He at least needs some new material and to learn some names and numbers, to freshen up his act, for that's what he is, an act. I think he's good for the game, to hear everyone complaining abt something. What is very troubling, and difficult to admit, is that I think Eddie is one of the better commentators.

Only watched the quarter last night, but the combo of Bruce & BT was just cringe worthy, dont recall hearing them together before, not good.

I think often the biggest issue with the likes of BT is the incessant rambling on about shit that has sfa to do with the game, while the game rolls on or a free kick needs explaining but they are completely ignoring it.

Dont mind BT on radio, but on TV? nah. Not that he's alone.

I enjoy BT. Doesn't take it too seriously and I enjoy the banter between him, Richo and Lingy.

Can't stand Bruce or Dennis

He rarely does his homework on the players taking the park, his grasp on the English language is tenuous at best, he speaks over his (marginally) more insightful and entertaining colleagues, once in a blue moon when he does pick up a footy record and flips through to the teams he picks one player and raves about them all game, he loses interest in games and starts to barrack, he can't cop it back after dishing it out all night, he makes up ridiculous nicknames (the package, come on), he uses the term 'footy factory' with reckless abandon, and I just don't like the look of him.

Total cocksplash. I actively avoid his commentary by attending Saturday night matches whenever I can.

It was embarrassing listening to that commentary about Stringer - I swear I'll lose my sh!t if that becomes the new "Big Boy McEvoy".

I don't think I could do a better job, but at least I know the players' names - and if I don't I find out rather than guessing.

Love him. It's a bit of fun.

Even if you don't like him, your alternatives are Dwayne, Hamish and Baz, what are you gonna do?
We don't exactly have a surfeit of commentators he's holding back.

BOY OH BOY LOOK AT THIS BUILD ON THIS BOY WILL YA???! WELCOME TO THE GUN SHOW!!!

Speaking of old Rex hasn't he tonned down his antics in the commentary box. I heard him for the first time in years the other day, on that croc media, i thought he had retired from calling games.
