Oh, so many reasons:

1. Braying/yelling
2. Random invention of moronic nicknames
3. Generally low intelligence
4. Constantly gets player names wrong
5. Constantly tries to engage in stupid banter with other morons in commentary box
6. Repetitive crap like "Calder cannons footy factory"
7. Habit of describing what is happening as follows: "X gets the ball and says 'get out of my way, I'm better than you!!!'"
8. Homophobe
9. Basic inability to describe simple events as they happen in front of him

I could go on.

Wonder why Ch.7 don't use that combo at all ? BT seems fairly tranquilized when Bruce is next to him in the box, compared to his commentating manner with the Saturday night circus. Sure BT could use an even better, calming influence in Dennis.
 
Jealousy is a curse Bigfooty. The keyboard warriors on here love taking pot shots at people who have achieved way more in their lifetime than they can even dream about. It's actually quite sad!

I'm really sad that BT now has to "share" the SNF commentary with Darce. Can't we all agree the old format was better? Even if it was filled with some "padding" about players haircuts, nicknames, insider info on players and their gf's, tangential musings, and bringing up the Calder Cannons footy factory every time a player came from there.

Isn't Luke Darcey NOT participating in play-by-play a better outcome????

Afterall, BT's attempts to create humour and his general antics in the sole commentary role is WHY Darce got in.

I say take the bad for the overall good. Plus I think he be trollin BF and the haters when he says all his catchphrases and pronounces names really oddly (which I especially like).

"Claaanceeeee Peeaarrce"

 
BT can crack me up listening to his commentating after a game or on youtube or whatever (NANANANA). But during a game it's just annoying, feels like he should be over with JB and Garry commentating the EJ Whitten match.

I'm watching the prelim between Hawks and Port atm and he actually isn't bad when he takes it seriously

Isn't it possible that some people just think he's bad at his job? If I watch a movie and don't like it, is it because I'm jealous of the director?

Yes, just proves he's a jibbering idiot.

He just overdoes the boys club, smart arse stuff. If the game is an ordinary one, then its fair enough to liven it up a bit. But he goes off his head when the game just needs some footy commentary. He cant help himself. He tries to show off & its embarrassing how stupid he can be.

Having an entire broadcast in the hands of former players is just a terrible idea. Half of them can't even string together proper sentences.

Also anybody around here who actually thinks BT is a good commentator is part of the problem. He's the lowest of the low.
 
I found him hilarious when he was on MMM pre-match, the chemistry just worked really well and it was entertaining to have some laughs before the game.

However, when calling football I think the average viewer doesn't want to be entertained by the caller, they want the game itself to entertain so when a caller has stupid sayings they repeat all the time or are over-the-top it grates on the viewers.

Probably the best footy commentators are the ones with no-frills calling, they just describe the play as it is unfolding, name the players involved in the play. I like Eddie Maguire calling for that reason.
