Why don't spinners have more variations?

Don't know what is going on here, but back to Grimmett's action; Basketball players don't shoot free throws underhanded anymore cause it looks lame. Probably same reason nobody bowls like Clarrie Grimmett today. Does it make his method any less effective? Who knows, but research shows underhanded free throws probably better the current modern method.

The Grade Cricketer take the piss out of his action all the time as a reason why you can't rate anyone before WWII (mostly Bradman).
This was a joke used by 3 comedians for comic effect btw. Stop taking it seriously.

Although it is seriously village.

Interesting comment. It takes me back to when I began playing basketball in the early 70s. By then, the overhead foul shot was the go. All of a sudden there was a guy, can't recall his name, who was stationed in Adelaide through the army. He was an older guy around 30, good player. Anyway, when he went to the line, he started throwing these underhand free throws. Looked strange, but he rarely missed one. :)
