He is a tall running flanker right? We have Bower, Anderson and Russell as players who can rebound out of defense. Why are we after Everitt so badly and what will he add to the team?
The longer the notion of this trade goes on the less interested I am.
The above question is a very valid one.

Everitt sounds good in principal but upon evaluation may not be anything more than a back up player for us.
I'd be happy for this one to just fizzle out into a non event.

Now, if we were talking of Lake.......................................

I believe the only reasons we would be looking at him is that he could become a KPP player (the bulldogs say that is unlikely) or that we figure we can pick him up cheap (pick 27) and get better value out of him than a draftee.

Yes, agree with those points. That's why pick 27 is acceptable. IF he wants to go to another Club, and IF they want to cough up a 10-20 pick, then good luck to them. I just can't imagine anyone wanting to go to the Dees, because they might not be around in a few years time. IF Everitt wants to go to the Saints, and IF they want him, they'd be able to cough up more than us. The key point is what Everitt wants. IF he's very keen on the Blues and doesn't want to go elsewhere, the Bulldogs are left with the dilemma of taking pick 27 now, or get nothing, and keep a disgruntled player on their list for another year. Plus there's the Lake Contract Factor in play causing salary cap havoc. Still reckon it's unlikely he'll end up at the Blues, but you never know. Blues are the preferred destination of most players being traded, but the practicalities of the trade process makes it difficult. :)
