Yep context is he threw a book in the air and let it fall to the ground.
I totally agree that the reaction is seriously OOT and patently stupid. And no excuse to riot.

But the same guy has a history of extremist right wing activity. Would the reaction have been the same if it was just some average bod in the street doing it?

I don't know but I reckon boiling it down to someone throwing a book in the air and letting if fall to the ground doesn't cover the whole story. That's all.

Seems you don't have to be far right.

Again, I totally agree.

This is the thing. I'm happy for Islam as a religion to cop **** as long as the same standards are applied to other religious nutjobs. But there seems to be an underlying narrative of Islam is evil therefore (insert religion here) must be good.
I can assure you that I don't subscribe to that narrative.
I would be happy if ALL religion was wiped from the face of the planet.

Nutjobs exist in any/most fields. The violence that is the basis of the concern with Islam more generally, relates to personal safety IMHO. Cant see a thinking Catholic excusing their problems/shame by comparing their Church with Islam, but nutjobs, yes.

Interesting in the video I posted above women do get the choice to wear the Hijab. However, if they decide not to it's an open invitation to be raped. Choices, choices.

And these are supposedly the moderate Muslims. I wonder if there are still German women holding up "welcome refugees" signs. Actually the scary thing is they probably still are.

Islam will set western womens rights back 200 years.
Not likely to get any traction from Twitter.

Its the woman's fault.
I'm simply a stupid animal that will hump anything that gives me a hard on, and if i'm stronger than they are I'll get my way.

Thank you Muslims for clarifying my place in the world.

But wait....shouldn't they all be drug addicts if their self control is so pissweak?
Bet your grandmother is proud of having you in her family. You're not an Anning are you?

Explain the context of your statement.
You seem to be relating me to someone who made deplorable statements in response to multiple murders.

In any case , Anning didn't commit the murders and his comments were not as damaging as rape, just because the woman is exposing her face. Which is what the topic was.

It's an interesting thing to compare though.
Anning had the poor taste to suggest that maybe Muslims were asking for it. Just like the Muslims above were suggesting that women were asking for it.

This is the end game.

When merely agreeing with a 'criminal' in any form is a 'crime'

https://www.theage.com.au/world/asi...iang-into-a-police-state-20190502-p51jfg.html

The app requires police officers to enter data including a person's blood type, height and any travel. It flags 36 "person types" who are suspicious, including someone who doesn't socialise with neighbours, collects money for mosques with enthusiasm, or has returned from abroad.

A person who "used smartphones in the past but has stopped altogether, or using only analog phones" is another suspicious type.

When a person's phone or ID card goes "off-grid" police are instructed by the app to investigate.

Being a suspect isn't committing a crime.
I've long said that the cops should investigate anyone who has a Ferrari/Lambourghini/McClaren etc registered.

- Has a filthy rich dad .... No suspicion.
- Has a successful ( for the time being ) marketing company. ...No suspicion.
- Lives in Cranbourne, 27 years old, with only tenuous ties to legitimate business activities. .....hmmmmm

At this point it can't be said that any of them have committed a crime, and driving the Ferrari is hardly committing a crime.

Why is the regime in China more of a nightmare for Muslims than it is for Buddhists or Christians?

Depends if you are flavour of the month. Our leaders don't seem to be great protectors of freedoms either.

Like I said, you don't know when the switch is thrown on your particular set of beliefs, but because you did nothing when it was just 'muzzies' you let the disease fester.

Neck minute - you are regarded as odd when you don't carry a smartphone everywhere

Rubbish.
The Chinese government have always been a bunch of pricks , they aren't my Government.
Every time there's an incident they (our government) come looking for more intrusive powers? Our police already have target groups (not just muslims). its a shallow slope but its a slope and its being enabled by technology originating in the west.

I'm not sure if this is totally relevant but isnt the bigfooty crackdown impinging on our freedom to 'self-discipline'? in a small way? driven by google?

Crime prevention trumps crime investigation IMHO. No problem if any Authority held that info on me OR anyone I know.

Ah, the old ‘if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear’ argument. As Snowden said, it’s as intellectually rigorous as saying we don’t need freedom of speech because you have nothing to say.

Yeah but what are you going to do about it? China are the rising world power and are very interested in monitoring you.
