I noticed on the Australia v Rest of the World post, Dipper had Warne in your test team. I have also seen a few other posts naming Warne in the test team to go to England, and also in the media. Well here a few things that might change your mind.
Since Jan 1, 1998 (the last 3 calendar years), Warne has played 22 tests, taken 77 wickets at 32, at a Strike rate of 70.
Miller has played 16 tests, taken 57 wkts at 25, at a S/R of 59.
MacGill has played 15 tests, taken 68 wkts at 24 at a S/R pf 49.
From those quick stats, why is everyone picking Warne, and everyone absoultely shit-baggin MacGill. And to add further weight to MacGill's favour is he took 7/ in the Sydney test.

They will go with Warne for India - due to experience, but he's definately lost his touch, have you noticed his variety of balls isn't as vast as previously?

After all his operations he has lost a little zip but now he's actually got a greater variation of deliveries. They may only be slight changes to his existing balls, like some extra top spin or over spin, but when you couple that with his immense tactical nous and experience, it's clear he's still the best spin bowler we have. MacGill's deliveries spin more but he bowls too many bad deliveries, even though his figures might suggest otherwise.

I'm sure Warne will be back for the Indian Test series and for the Ashes where the English batsmen have a bad case Warnophobia. There's nothing wrong with MacGill, it's just that with a fit Warne and Miller the preferred spin partner, there's no room for him in the team.

Im not really against Warne. I rate him higher than MacGill, just the figures dont say that. I rate Miller above both of them.

In England, i would say its between Warne and Miller. Warne may get the nod because the English players really dilike Warne.

However in India, i would defeintaly go for Miller. The Indian wickets aren't suited for Warne. There not exactly suited for Miller either, but quick off spinners will do better than slow leg spinners. Also, the Indian batsmen just carve Warne up. Especiallyy the left handers, ie. Gangully.

Warne will make it without a doubt. Especially after Kerry O'Keeffe said tonight that MacGill has a career threatening hand problem. Anyone shed any light?
