Do men really enjoy watching videos that degrade women, or do they just watch it for the ick factor? Apparently they try to emulate it in their personal lives, so I suppose they like some of it.

Will we see an uprising of more feminist porn? There is a bit of that, but not nearly enough imo

Can porn be detoxed? Porn stars are people too, yet their well-being is often overlooked, which is typical of sex workers in general not being valued.

Is the subject perhaps too taboo to be tackled properly?

Mostly I find a lot of porn to be narcissistic, and therefore troubling, if boys are really learning from it.

Sounds like you have done some in-depth research on the subject

What the difference between feminist porn and general porn?

Women learn from it too, it formulates their ideas of what is expected of them.
There is also the racist aspect.

Porn is only for sexual arousal. It's possible to have a good movie that includes porn but then it's a matter of who is going to fund, produce and distribute it.

Commercially produced porn, especially from the US, seems to be very formulaic. It is not usually a realistic depiction of sex as an act between two people for mutual pleasure, it tend to be performative art and an expression of male dominance and ritual humiliation of the female. If the female gets to enjoy the act at all then it is usually depicted as a further sign of the male's dominance over her - that she is being treated like an object and loving it. it is not really promoting sex in a healthy relationship IMHO.

Realistic sex acts in a healthy way tend to be amateur stuff recorded in the home with poor lighting and production values.

But I guess the commercial producers only make the sort of films that sell well. If porn that depicted the woman genuinely enjoying the act and the man contributing to his partner's enjoyment sold well then I guess there would be much more of it. But there isn't, so I guess it doesn't sell well.

A company like Netflix has the ability to produce very high quality pornography for general viewing however I'm not sure whether they would take that risk given their business model.

We are now in uncharted history in human history.

Never before have young men grown up with access to the most degrading filth imaginable only a click away.

The damage it does to pleasure receptors in a developing brain and the expectations it places on young women will have devastating consequences for generations to come.

There is absolutely no reason why a healthy society would want porn available to their citizens. Would love to see it completely banned and pornographers either taxed into oblivion or jailed.

Funny, but most prn makes a point of the female enjoying it and the male ‘performing’ a role. How the hell ahve we n]been conditioned to this?

Surely it should be the male having a great time and the female just performing a service role?

If I were a parent I'd like to think I'd sit down and watch some porn with my kids which would be excruciating for all involved but it would be a chance to explain that what they see here is not what their experience is likely to be. I'd argue that it would be almost impossible in this day and age to stop your kids seeing porn, best to tackle it head on to give them realistic expectations.

Jesus, no.

Anyway, I don’t know about a lot of what’s being described here. But I agree with the above point that sex workers are workers, and sadly attitudes seem to mostly either be “they’re perverts with no rights” or “they’re victims who must be saved”.

I don't agree with this course of action, imagine how quickly child services would be around if junior went to school and told the teacher he'd been watching Brazzers with the old man?

Completely agree and seems to be a pretty ignored issue in society.

Seems like the issue is getting a bit more traction that it has in previous years due to the compounding issues of illegal material being so readily found on major sites and the increase in revenge porn / leaking of private material. The overtly negative aspects of the pornographic saturation of our current generations are coming to the fore, and it anecdotally seems that more people are pushing back against the whole industry now. Probably still a drop in the ocean (don't make a dirty joke... don't make a dirty joke...) but criticism seems to be more prominent now.
