I'm not questioning this guy's ability or record, but why on earth does this nancy ass bastard continually get away with privilieges no TRUE champion deserves.

Is he injured - No?

Has he been over worked - jackshit in jackshit seasons doesn't indicate this.

Is he just plain soft - therein lies the question.

A marquee player should play whenever possible.

With no injury, hardly a lack of work and a record to die for, I think this guy has been afforded priviliges way above his output and ability over the past five seasons.

ONLY measured, reasoned and logical debate will be responded to.

DIPSHITS (eg sandie, carb70, dees01) need not reply.

His record does not suggest he is soft and he is a wonderful player - but why can't he play. I mean he even missed five or six games last year with a questionable injury.

What the hell is he paid for - to play football all the time or when he feels like it.

Either it is a tragedy because his injuries are that bad and he needs to be nursed along like a nancy so he doesn't perform like Carey come finals time or there is a question mark about his desire to play football.

You don't see James Hird champing at the bit to play like Carey - demanding that he plays.

It just seems extremely odd to me - you have a limited lifespan as a footballer and like Might & Power, one day an injury may finish it before you get to prove yourself as possibly an all time great.

If you dont do it week in week out - how can you be compared to true great like Lethal etc

Probably being baited here, but I don't care...

The Ansett Cup is a lost cause for Essendon now, so there's no need to play him, especially if he's not at 100 percent. Why play him now and risk an even greater injury?

I've always had the utmost respect for Hird, as a player. Last year he played 20 games, and at least in the ones where I saw him he didn't seem in the least soft. He looks soft, as a person, but his capacity to take the hard mark or win the hard ball looked obvious to me. And he was always there when his team needed a lift.

Doesn't really answer the question of why he's not playing the Ansett Cup. Maybe he is still injured. Is he training with the rest of the team?

James Hird is one of the hardest palyers at the ball in the AFL. He always wins a one-on-one contest when the ball is in dispute. He is a true champion.

As for his no-show this pre-season. Who cares? If he plays 22 H&A games, you will have completely forgotten that he didn't play in the pre-season.

It is highly likely that he wants to play, but the club won't let him. Remember, Essendon can't make the pre-season finals, so there is no point playing him, except for match practice, which the club feels he doesn't need.

I agree Dan, some of these weak pricks should look in their own backyard before accusing opposition players of being soft

kym, I didn't see Carey line up in the first 2 rounds of the Ansett Cup either. Essendon have nothing to play for this weekend, they have got a good membership, they are out of the competition so why bother bringing back your key player when he could get injured?

I find it strange that kim is so concerned about the Bombers line up. Are you disappointed kimmy because you can't sit & wank while you watch Jimmy play. I did have my suspicions about you, now they are confirmed. (not that there is anything wrong with that).
Okay wait for the typical unoriginal reply, fat, old, ugly, or will kimmy actually get a brain & come up with an original response. I doubt it.

Don't even have the guts to reply under your own name, I knew I was right. If my suspicions are correct the thought of any woman would do that to him.

Try again.

Crawford gave him a shalacking when we played you in 99...so maybe you should re-phrase that to alot/most of the time

Er, I think you should get your facts right. Go to the Essendon website, check out the injured players.

Sandie Sandie Sandie,

You are such a temperemental little thing, always so defensive of your turf.

Oh yes I am so disappointed that Jimmy Girl isn't playing because I love to beat off over the Golden Boy.

You really are a pathetic little thing that takes great delight in having some form of respect from one or two people here.

Your ability to ignore debate and get upset when anyone raises an issue that may be a little bit negative is impeccable.

Perhaps your finger brushes gently over your thighs when you see a nice friendly post about "sandie being my favorite poster", but only Girly Man Jimmy can do it for me.

And btw it certainly was not me that sent you that unregistered post - I am proud to take the piss out of you under my usual alias.

Cheers sweetheart.

You are my fave.
