Sarcasm = The intellects humour

Are you being sarcastic?? ;)

Sydney have two of the best run-withs in the business and Kirk blanketed Brock.

McLean was recruited to play a role, not for express pace and outside finishing like a Lewis Jetta.

McLean, Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Simpson..........against most opposition scan't all be tagged and someone should run amok in the same side

I'd say a lack of understanding in that it was clear to anyone with half a brain that McLean was played as our main on-baller and tagged heavily all night whereas in a real game Judd and Murphy are the two main men. The coach was experimenting and didn't really care about the result, either way next week would've just been another pre-season game.

good in theory,
unfortunately mclean was recruited to take the tag
and get in and under and win the hard ball,
tonight he did neither, anyway its only a nab cup game
but it was very very average,
he is not an 18 year old playing his first season,
he is a seasoned competitor try to make a good impression
at a new club, we shall see what the future holds, but tonight
was a massive fail

What do you call Kirk then ???? How effective was Kirk the other way?? He must have been doing something?

III give him time but it doesnt look promising......... Lucas and davies had better games and they have never played afl before......:thumbsd:

Drop these players
Hampson
McClean
Browne
Jacobs
Davies

Bring in these
Simmo
Walker
Holihan
Betts
Waite
muRPHY

and it will be different...................

Im not to worried but Im sure a few of the recruits will be duds........:footy:
Davies was very solid in his first game tonight. Probably better than Lucas on most occassions.

yes to get in and under, mostly to block for Judd, who wasn't played on the ball much tonight because it's the pre-season and we're experimenting. Definately not recruited to take the tag, that's Murphy and Judd and nothing will change there.

To everyone making these threads, pull your fingers out.

It 1 NAB cup game for gods sake.

He took a hit to the chops early aswell which im sure didnt help.

Kirks job was to shut down Brock Mclean tonight,
he kicked a goal and could have easily kicked another
Brock Mcleans job was not to stop Brett Kirk,
pretty weak arguement mate.....

I agree mostly about giving him time, but this isnt the 2010 review thread,
Hezi was talking about tonights game....
anyway if Murphy had played kirk would have gone to him,
and maybe we would be celebrating a win now, but Bradhsaw, ROK and Jesse White didnt play either so who knows eh?

You don't think it's a little ridiculous for a known clueless troll to be starting threads bagging players after one meaningless practice match?

He is probably just desperate to see us win,
some of us vent things differently to others,
If we were all the same how boring would it be?
:):):)

BWAHAHAHA LOVE THIS THREAD!

He's slow and He's shit, trust me I know, he wont improve!

Thanks for pick 12 btw HAHAHA

Brock mclean was recruited to take a tag????
Must be a bloody champion to cop one before gibbs, judd and murphy.

Seriously worse thread than a Collingwood troll.

Give the man a break, he is coming off a hard preseason with a massive running workload, gets tagged by kirk for the whole match, and is playing his first practice match for his new club. It was a miserable nite and the ball was slipping all over the joint.
Oh did I mention it was a preseason NAB cup match.
Doubt he will cop the number one tag when the real stuff starts.
Wait till he fails a few times in a real game before you start slagging off a player of his calibre.
This sort of pesimistic drivel is not welcome here.
Its bad enough seeing multiflogs calling blue armageddon on Bay13
Go to the Robert Walls board and post this shit:thumbsd:

Call me a troll, Judas, John Howard, whatever, but lets get real here.

I am a Carlton supporter and I have high standards.

McClean was recruited to fill the hole left by Stevo. I'd bet money Ratten had a hand
in drafting him since Ratten coached him at Melbourne when they were still half decent.

He was recruited as a senior, skillful player to bolster our midfield and work in an in-and-under to defensive manner, and to also play as a tagger on better opposition mids.

I would have expected at least 8-12 possessions for a player of his skill and experience, who by all media reports had a pearler of a pre-season and was primed to impress.

What does the bum do? Comes out with a smart-arse attitude, hardly gets a touch and even though the game wasn't a thrashing, and was an experiement, doesn't impress many Carlton supporters, except the handful that think i'm a ******** for stating what i saw.

And besides, my point was he better switch his brain on, coz we're all watching!

Totally different player to Stevo. Outside v inside, for which McLean has been recruited to assist in getting the ball to Judd, Murphy, Simpson, Gibbs etc.
1st PRACTICE match of the year and he didn't shine, but not the end of the world just yet + a few other midfielders to join the pack to make the team complete, and his role more prevalent.
