Why should Lions and Roos get "home" anything?

Well read with some amusement the complaints from the Lions and the Roos about not getting the semi's exactly where they would like them. But why should these clubs think they have any rights to any home finals? The Lions took all the advantages of a merger and now bitch about having to play in Melbourne where presumably there are some Fitzroy supporters still supporting them. And the about the only place the Roos haven't played is Antarctica. At least port have some support in their home state so there should be a reasonable crowd Friday.

How true, can't have it both ways Roos. Isn't Manuka Oval, The SCG, The Olympic stadium, Upper Kumbukta West Oval, Darwin all home grounds of yours. Maybe whilst you're over there in SA you can try to set up another home base to drag in more supporters.

And if Port win (big if!!) they'll want to play the Ansett Cup GF in Adelaide too.

That will be 4 out of 5 games at home to start the season - talk about a free ride!!

I reckon you guys should ask to play 80% of the home and away season at home as well!!

As with the finals in September, the team with the best record should get home ground advantage, so North goes to Port which is fair, and Brisbane travels to Melbourne. I see no problem with the draw. It will still be a North-Brisbane GF, and North will once again beat those wimpy little Brissy butts.

The final would only be at Footy Park if Port play Brisbane. The Gabba is being used for cricket at that time. Are you stupid enough to suggest it should be played in Melboune??? A Hawthorn-Port final would certainly be played in Melbourne. Fair enough too.

PS - we beat Geelong easily enough at Colonial - what's your point?

While on the topics of free rides, how is it that the Kangaroos get put into a pool with teams that finished 13, 15 and 16 last year?

I think you'll find that Port will get a home final regardless. It's been established that Brisbane can't have the game at the Gabba on the Grand Final weekend, while Port had to play Hawthorn at Waverley in the 1999 final.

As a Hawk, I've got no problem with that. I realise that Port would have had four home games out of five, but we'd have the same effectively, since we chose to play in Tassie, and will have two at Colonial in a row. I'd like to go of course, but so would the Power fans.

The game will only be played in Adelaide if Port defeat the Roos, and that won't happen, if fact it will never happen.

That's the first time I've heard that suggested. Good for us if it happens. Could this be the start of the AFL 'doing the right thing' re finals venues? Unlikely...

Yes, but being a Devo fan, he's obviously nerdy enough to be saying it as he types it. He's as bigger wanker as all these Cold Pies wankers.
