List Mgmt. Why the exodus?

Wasn't it when he heard we got Gibbs? Or wasn't it Teague?

There have been more stories about Mitch than good games he has played
The rumour at the time I believe was we offered him $650K or so and told him "that's all we have", which he took, but then told him if Lever left we'd renegotiate his deal. So when Lever left he came for a larger slice of the pie, which we then told him wasn't available because Gibbs was coming in.

So Gov (or his manager) was pissed and felt we purposely misled them to get him on a cheaper deal and wanted the trade to Carlton. I believe after 2018 he was also pissed that we kept throwing him back to defense during games and was pissed Pyke told him he needed to get in better shape (which was one of the first issues Carlton had with him)

all his points were 100% on the money and there wouldn't be many fans that disagree.

But Aren't you happy to finally have an official person explain the thought process?

However his responses are only part of the overall story IMO.
It's all bee explained before though. It just comes across as Roo taking shots on guys who left years ago.

Has it? Always ad hoc.

The guy got asked a question about it and responded.

At least he's coping shit on national radio now, no hiding on a local MMM. Which I think is good.

Govs manager has changed the story so many times. Basically he wanted to hide his clients want to be a gold digger. Carlton screwed the pooch on this trade. Kind of like Tippett. Over hyped and over paid and like tipped killed Sydney, Gov is killing Carlton. I am willing to bet Gov will be wanting a trade back to Freo in the next two seasons.

During the trade period he came up with every excuse bar $. That had absolutely nothing to do with his move of course.

This is true but I think its fair when the exodus from the Crows keeps being brought up as if was all players drove exit because hated club when is more nuanced.

Do love him claiming he turned down bigger offers from Perth to take less at Adelaide.

Don't get me wrong, I would recruit Danger again every day of the week, for as disappointed Milera has become, he is still better than Ebert.

But what I would love to see is the tests we do on players.

Not exactly sure why Roo needed to dig this all up again? It achieves what exactly? Just setting the club up for more shit. He seriously needs to just shut the fu** up sometimes.
I dont think that Roo initiated this. The question was asked by North Melb manager (cant remember his name) and Roo responded.

I would have preferred Roo respond without divulging peoples salaries but I am happy that he spoke out. For me the media paint the club as a place no one wants to be there. Reality is that yes there are players who want to move on because they dont like the club but most seem to move for other reasons like money, contact length, and in Dangers case his love of being home. When ever we get the chance to see inside the club the players all seem to be happy, full of fun and they have a good sense of camaraderie.

From the outside everyone of us feel there is a major issue inside the club but for me there still seems to be a lot of positivity around the players.

Gov 100% didn’t leave because of the camp, he just thought the club was too sterile and like a business. It’s amazing how the camp can find its way into any story though!
You're 100% wrong. Couldn't be more wrong. The wrongest of wrong. The king, if you will, of all wrong.

My source is a friend of Gov’s, but I’m sure that doesn’t matter to you. Care to explain why the story about Gov leaving came during 2017, well before the camp? Hello? Hello, are you there?

I thought it was common knowledge on this board that he left because he thought we promised him more money when Lever left and then didn’t. He is the laziest bloke to ever grace an AFL field, I’m very glad that he is Carlton’s problem.

He got asked by Brayshaw. And he could have said something that didn't invite a whole bunch of scrutiny, acrimony from ex players and more of an impression that "the club knows best".

I thinks it's telling that I wrote a tweet about Bunjis comments last week and Hugh Greenwood liked it. There is A LOT of negativity about the current Adelaide Football Corporation and not just from fans, but ex players and employees too, and I'm sure we only hear bits and pieces. Roo should know better than to put the welcome mat down to more shit.

Poholke came out in support of McLeod on twitter too. Wonder if that will impact his selection chances.

You reckon the source we had was thin air?

Ricciuto’s comments came in response to former North Melbourne chairman James Brayshaw, who put forward that if he was at the club, he would’ve asked the board why so many players have left, saying “it is ridiculous how many players have requested to leave that place. How does that happen?”

Speaking on Triple M, Ricciuto, an eight time All Australian, went through the list of players put forward and explained why they left the club.

Patrick Dangerfield - “Dangerfield was never going to stay, we would've paid whatever we could to keep Patrick Dangerfield, he’s absolutely loyal, loves loves Moggs Creek he would’ve never stayed... we never even got to money.”

Charlie Cameron - “He was one that we didn’t want to lose, one of the few that we weren’t happy to let go. He got a very very good contract from Brisbane who were down the bottom of the ladder and had plenty of money in their salary cap, couldn't match that, absolutely not. This was at 2017, when you’re at the top of the ladder and you salary cap is chocker blocked you haven’t got much room to move have you? If you pay someone overs or a massive amount of money it means you have to lose someone else. We didn't want to lose him but we lost him.”

Jake Lever - “Got a five-year deal on 800 to 850,000, very comfortable that we let him go on that money, he’s probably a 500,000 player.”

Mitch McGovern - “Comfortable that he went. He’s got what we want and we love people that contest in the forward line and have plenty of speed and we need speed in the forward line but once again 800 and something thousand, has he delivered for Carlton yet? No. Comfortable that he went.”

Eddie Betts - “We need to get some youth into our side, he’s 33, we were comfortable for him to go. Thats not a request to leave that was a mutual agreement.”

Josh Jenkins - “Very happy for him to go. Once again age in our forward line we needed to get some youth in our forward line. Very comfortable, we’re even paying part of his contract, same with Eddie Betts.”

Hugh Greenwood - “That was as much our call or probably more our call. Everyone says we’ve got the slowest midfield in the competition, you can’t just keep having those players in your midfield and then whinge that you’ve git a slow midfield. He’s 28 this year and not going to be playing on our next premiership side so we’re trying to get draft picks in to rebuild.”

Alex Keath - “Got offered a massive amount of money to go to Western Bulldogs, a large amount of money. More than double what he was on at Adelaide. That’s what he wanted and if we kept him we would’ve lost more players.”

Ricciuto concluded by saying he is happy to be transparent surrounding any departures at the club.

“They’re the facts and if anyone disagrees with me, I’m happy to go through it,” he said.

“I’ve always said I’m happy to be asked about players.”

Never commented on your source. If you trust anything Colin Young says though, there really isn’t much to discuss here.
Wasn't Mr Young. And why are you even arguing? There's been so many players make comments about the camp, it's clearly an issue whether you want to believe it or not.

Never said it wasn’t an issue for a while for some players, but it had nothing to do with him leaving/club forcing him out.

McGovern hardly seems reliable if both of you have sources close to him saying such contrasting things. The unprofessional way he's prepared himself at Carlton only adds to questions about his character.
