The excuse that the younger players are tiring, in my book is a lot of Bulldust.

I'll tell the problem, it is the selection of the team and the lack of accountability by the selectors.

Charlie Gardiner, Gary Ablett, James Bartel, Josh Hunt, and David Wojcinski have all been dropped for performances that have not justified being dropped. Whilst some of the Senior Players have been given many chances, to find form but they have not performed. It is a contradiction, to continually pick Mitchell White, while David Mensch play his guts out in the V.F.L. , and has not been named as an emergency since round 4. It is quite evidend that the backline looks brittle at best, with Milburn and Sanderson missing another backman is needed so Id bring in Josh Hunt

It is time for some serious changes this week and I f I was selecting the side I would bring in the following players to somehow help defeat the Evil Lion Empire

in: Ablett, Bartel, Hunt, Mensch, Street

out: Clarke,Kilpatrick, White, Lord(inj) Woolnough

B: Scarlett, Graham, Hunt
HB: Slade, Harley, Rooke
C: Corey Kelly, Enright
HF: Riccardi, Mooney, Ling
F: S.Johnson, Kingsley, Bartel
Foll: King, Chapman, Rahilly
Inter: Ablett ,Street, Mensch, Wojcinski
Emerg: McGrath, Clarke, Woolnough

I agree with you Nolsey. I too am tired of hearing about the tiring young players. We have several in the VFL who have not played for weeks who must be scratching at the bit to get a run. Ablett and Bartel must be the unluckiest two going around at present. Why aren't they getting a run? Probably because they are not Mark Thompson's love children. Charlie Gardiner and Josh Hunt also deserve a run. The youth policy doesn't mean much when, as you say, White is in the team. McGrath and Mensch, who could both fill some big gaps in the team at present, would be better in the team than him. At this stage of the season forget the youth policy, we have a real chance of playing finals and need our best team on the field. I really wonder if the club is fair dinkum about playing in the finals. I also get a little, no a lot, tired of hearing "You have to be pleased about where the club is. We didn't expect to be almost playing finals this year, with such a young side." That is all bulldust. We are not the youngest team. The weekend we played Collingwood they were younger and had less games experience than us but we still won. We played pretty good football to win our 7 games in a row and now all of a sudden we are struggling like crap and everybody turns it around to the young guys being tired. I reckon a couple of our senior players on Saturday were injured and should not have been playing in the side. I think our football department is the major problem.

Your team looks pretty good to me Nolsey but I think I would bring in McGrath as well. I think Graham needs a rest, he looks injured to me. Did you see him grab his knee towards the end of the game on Saturday? He looked very very sore.

True, but if that was the case, shouldn't, according to bomber, we should be resting them now

I thought Wojcinski was injured. Bartel and Ablett have played, but they get no game time...:(

To be fair on Mitchell, he's had only 2 games. But yes, i think Mensch should get a game this week.

I think Kingsley should be rested.
I don't reckon Clarke should be out. He's done a bit. Sure he's not as good as at the start of the season, but no need to drop him i don't think.

I'd like to see Marc Woolnough left in the side at full forward this week and give Kent Kingsley a week off. In all seriousness, our best chance of getting that elusive 12th win will be next week against Hawthorn at Colonial, and a fit Kent Kingsley (who kicked 5 goals last time against Hawthorn) will certainly help our cause!!

You never know, Wooly may even kick a bag and we'll have found out something else this season about the ability of our playing list.

Go Cats!!

I think that although Kingsley would be feeling the pinch at this time of the year, I think that most teams were shocked by his goal kicking ability and did their homework on him. The found his weaknesses and payed more attention to him which made his goals dry up. This has then forced him up the ground.

Good point SeinDude. If he has a week off in the VFL, kicks his bag in the VFL, and comes back refreshed in round 22, I think he can kick a few goals!!:D:D

Go Cats!!:)

It is all Mitchell White's fault.

He's only played 4 games for the year, but it's his fault we are 11 and 9, his fault we lost to Freo, his fault we almost lost to St. Kilda (despite sitting on his arse on the bench for most of the game). It's all his fault.

As for saying that he doesn't fit into the youth policy, well, do Mensch and McGrath?

I don't think so.

Mitchell White was a great player when he played with the West Coast Eagles. Unfortunately since he moved here he has been decimated by injury and is not the same player. He tries very hard but I think his body is just absolutely broken. He just seems to be brushed aside too easily now and I really worry about him playing on Saturday, the Lions will hunt him down I reckon. I just hope they don't cause any major injuries to him. In all honesty I cannot understand why he is picked if he is going to spend the majority of his time sitting on the bench. Wouldn't we be better giving another young guy that privilege? Or better still pick someone who is going to get some decent game time. Unfortunately Catman I think it is time to recognise that Mitchell's time is up.

In mind and body we need the team that played Essendon and the Magpies.
That team playing the way they did with the mindset they had could have won the Premiership in 2002.
Noone could have beaten!!

Go Cats!!
