In all seriousness there is an understandable perception that Eddie may favour you.

When he got the job I got a few PMs saying that people thought he wouldn't play fair.

I didn't really see it myself but I know that some people are't coming here anymore because they either think that Eddie is crooked towards you blokes or there's enough doubt in their minds that they don't want to invest the time & effort in case it's bent.

One of the things where he didn't help himself was that time when you said wouldn't it be funny if CR7 is left just short of his century due to a declaration & that's exactly what happened later in the game & everyone was then thinking that if Eddie is telling you what's happening in games how far does it go, that was definitely a key point in people losing their basic trust, because although it doesn't change anything it's a step out of whiter than white territory.

I dunno if Ricketts is just sh*t stirring but it should be understood that there are some people out there who have never had a 'public sook' as Frodo called it in the etiquette thread but who have stopped participating here because of the doubts that they have.

For me I think Eddie does a good job & I like him.

And I have to say that if you pushed me for a definitive answer as to whether I think he helps you lot out I'd say no but there is that little nagging doubt in the back of my mind & it does ruin a bit this thing for me.At the end of the season I realised that I either had to give it away altogehter or bite the bullet & get on with it, I'm here I'm getting on with it, nobody but Eddie can know for sure what goes on & in the end you have to take it all on trust.

But you have to accept that when your mate & teammate takes over the running of the thing, when he's been involved with you in the whole Aliasgate stuff & when he's clearly been telling you what's happening in games before they've been posted (& then pehaps unfortunately for him the Crocs win the flag) then human nature being what it is, people will be suspicious & have doubts over the impartiality of the controller.

This game where you've had them at what 31/7 & 51/4 looks so outrageous as to be suss, but I know that you've got a very good line up worked out with bonus points & that KCC line up was probably asking to be smashed to pieces.

Doesn't matter what line up we chose...i've never seen 31/7 happen & 51/4 with pure batsman making up the top 5...that and the fact it was a batters track

Theoretically being the first game of the season eddie could have simmed this match 5000 times before he found the match he wanted....

Good post Dipper, what you said in there is right, but I know I dont cheat, hell considering the amount of times I feel like killing CC its a wonder people think I would help them, hell half the Crocs thought I hated them last year

I was shocked as well with the KCC v Crocs game, knew what the reaction would be as soon as I saw it but games like that happen on this sim, sometimes a large amount of bps difference between sides can cause lopsided results

Sometimes I find it funny that some people accuse me of cheating every week of the season as I wonder, why? Often they are the people who I couldnt care less about yet they have some idea I hate them and would make their stats worse

Maybe some people take things on other boards more seriously, but there is no one on these boards I hate or would do anything against especially in a game that is supposed to be fun

I think he does a good job (in write ups, simming games on time, stats) but he has shown he will bend rules in the past and when inconsistancies occur he is always going to be questioned...

Credit to Eddiesmith for keeping himself out of the mud on this btw by not retorting as he probably should - I've been running an online game for the last 15 years or so and have had all sorts of accusations thrown at me - I'm not so tolerant though. Well as I said I don't think he does cheat but I guess everyone is aware that it wouldn't say much for the comp if a guy who runs the thing & enjoys doing it is voted out with no evidence of any wrong doing.

I don't think anyone wants to 'have the excuse' in case you win, I don't think anybody wants to feel any doubt about the fairness of the comp more than anything.

You're pretty happy to go on the attack but answer this for me, you must admit that Eddie telling you stuff that happens in games before they're posted & then you gleefully letting the cat out of the bag to get at CR7 has put some doubt in peoples' minds.That shouldn't be happening & that's the thing that has allowed that tiny bit of doubt to have a voice in my head.
