This problem has been annoying me for ages. I have a Sony Xperia Android phone. I can always connect to the Wifi at home. However, for long periods (maybe 6-7 hours, sometimes longer) the phone says it is connected to the wifi but the internet does not actually work. Turning the phone's wifi on and off, turning the router on and off, changing from DHCP to static all does not work. I can tell when it is like this because it often connects really quickly to the wifi, almost as if it is a 'fake' connection, whereas when it is connected and working properly it often takes a little longer to obtain the IP address and connect. It doesn't happen all the time, just once every few days.
