Wiggins - Surprise Packet 2007

I think the Wig is a great player, and underated by everyone in the footy community.
He played a game against WCE at subiaco last year and carved up Wirrapunda. He kicked 2 or 3 goals for the day with plenty of possessions.

He is a handy utilty who can play both ends of the ground.

Wasn't Wiggins the surprise packet of 2006 for us? I mean, he forced his way into the squad, then played pretty well in limited opportunities after everyone thought he was finished, and bought himself another year on the list. Can a player be the surprise packet 2 years in a row? Maybe if he becomes an elite forward or something...

Elite? I can't see him ever being more than a serviceable, honest tryer.

I've watched all of his senior games and I have only seen him play 1 good game and even that was only 1 good half. It was against the (hated) Eagles last year and I loved it.

There may be more to Wiggins that imporves the team. Training, work ethic, leadership and I'm not privy to those skills, so I won't judge him on those attributes.

You obviously left early during the St Kilda thumping of us last year (Rnd 8). 10 marks, 25 possies, and the only other player that day to trouble the scorer other than Fev (albeit with two behinds).

well, i've watched every second of every game including post match press conferences and interviews during this horrible period. There's every chance I forgot this particular performance, so appologies to Simon and thanks for the correction.

I'd just hate to see him have a shocker this year with the club then being put in a tough situation as he is contracted for 2008 as well.
