Does Wil break in and become a permanent small defender this year? I'd love it if we didn't need to use Josh Daicos (or even Houston) as a running small defender, but not sure if he is up to it yet.

Hard for him to play small defender because all the small forwards are much quicker and more agile than him.
Wing who links defense and attack is probably his best spot, I'm personally worried about his lack of leg speed but maybe that can improve over preseason considering he wouldn't do much leg work as a cricketer

Maybe with injuries.
Without injuries I’ll back in Houston Quaynor Maynard. Markov and Parker the depth for now
I’m more confused by the comment that he’s a walkup start but not until after the bye, meaning he really isn’t.

He is our best youngster (over Ed Allan IMO) but half back is stacked. It’s pretty much his position and not sure where else he can play.
Worried he becomes a Joe Richards and leaves but one who becomes elite.

There’s a spot on the wing for him in my opinion. Think he’ll take over from Steele or WHE. Could also see him being a Crisp successor.
If he’s a one positional player and yet he’s our best youngster and that’s a big IF anyway) , that spells red flags to me. He’ll either have to find a way to be more multipositional, or he’ll have to wait.
There are plenty of midfield vacancies that will open up in coming seasons.
