As a supporter of a team who finished 9th 2 of the last 3 years this is the dumbest thing the AFL has ever done and they're quickly adding to the list of dumb things,
We beat 1 top 8 side all year and would've played finals as would 10th who most years only wins 10 or 11 games
Cash grab nothing more and the "oh yeah but everyone will still go" argument is ridiculously stupid,
I'm not going to support my team for 24 rounds then suddenly decide no I can't this week because Andrew Dillon and Laura Kane are A grade ****wits better hope we win and wait until next week.
The other part that is giving me the shits is the media cronies like Poindexter Whatley and Shit Shock Jock Korn telling us how good it is as if they aren't just licking Craig Hutchinson's sphincter to keep the money train going along

I think with expansion the final 8 system was going to get expanded. It just didn't need to be done yet. Generally the AFL has made changes later after expansion than before it. I think from that perspective I'm going to say 'undecided' because it's inevitable but i think the AFL has pulled the trigger on it to early. Again I could stomach it a lot more if we are in a 20 team competition, but we're not there yet so changing it now seems stupid. If there was an option for 'to soon' I'd vote that
From the old fashioned purely romantic side of me, I don't like 'finals' being played outside of September
I also feel very confident in saying we will probably never see someone make a grand final let alone win the premiership from 9th or 10th. Prelims maybe, but not a grand final, from the way it sounds those clubs will have been going non stop since midseason bye
