Rearing it's ugly head again. The author's main argument is that teams with 13 wins might not make finals this season.

And I say that might only be the case this season, and is actually not a reflection on how good those teams may be, but how poor the bottom four teams are. Last year 15th to 18th won 23 games between them. This year that grouping sits on 14 wins, with maybe 2 or 3 more wins likely.

it's a 5 week finals series that is being proposed, consisting of more than half the comp, fn joke

Right now, the 7 sides who are competing in finals that are not the minor premier are wild card sides because the afl only have one "division".... if you are going to use American terminolgy, use it correctly ffs

Only way you can have a wildcard is if top 6 auto qualify and next 4 teams with best percentage play eachother for final two places.

Thats a wildcard as he teams could be 11th, 12th or anywhere if they have good percentage.
Would also stop floggings in season as percentage matters even more.
