He can't go on forever though. 2 years maximum.

And he isn't really a late bloomer, he's being killing it all his career. Just the stupid selectors took this long to pick him.

In two years time someone else will probably be putting their hand up ahead of Phil Hughes. Like most I'd like to have seen Phil Hughes succeed at Test level, but I think his goose might be cooked at 25.

Cam White in the runs again today for the Vics - 50 not out thus far.

I don't think a double hundred would get him in the Test line-up though.

He (along with Khawaja) are probably the inform batsman at the moment in the country. He needed to make hundreds in both games before the team was selected to get in though.

He'll be batting at 4 for Aus A I'd expect.

Shit squad is shit.

They didn't want to weaken the shield teams to much. By only picking two players from each team they can make sure that the shield matches are a decent enough standard to base selection on.

While I agree with it in theory they could have gone:

Henriques, Warner from NSW
Hartley, Khawaja from Qld
Klinger, Sayers from SA
White, Holland from Vic
Bailey, Butterworth from Tas
Agar, Coulter-Nile from WA

who would have said Mitch Johnson?

You can never tell with him. I still reckon having a fit Ryan Harris in the team is massive for Johnson. He's never comfortable as attack leader and now he doesn't have to be. Clarke can use him for his strengths and not have to try and use him as a bowler he isn't.

Harris is a gem, an absolute gem, he's my hero

When he first came into the side and saw his action in the first over, you know you have a ripper in your hands, such a wonderful action

Would comfortably sit with all those quicks during the golden era

it was always going to be one or the other...

was either going to go 3/400 over the first two tests and then back to the wilderness or rip the poms a new butt hole.

said it during the winter series, been robbed of a 300 test wicket career, I rate him tremendously highly :thumbsu:

Mitchell Johnson.

30+ wickets at less than 20 and 200+ runs including 3 x 50's.
